Yeah. Terrier cleaver. Who knew that they existed at all.

Deep stamped, too.

This one found it's way to me. Neat little knife, almost a physician's knife pattern. Blades are used up some, but they still snap nice, and the handle is in great shape.

Carl, you are fortunate that little stray wandered up to your door. Lots of character in that one.

622195 was one a three or four Robeson Physician’s Knife patterns and they continued to make it into the 1950’s In strawberry bone.

That little Terrier is the oldest one I’ve ever seen and the first such Terrier I’ve ever seen.

Nice find.

I like that Terrier stamp on the bottom bolster. Is that a cap bolster?

The bottom bolster is squared but rounded slightly , not exactly sure what a cap bolster is ?

I really like that gunstock. First such Terrier I’ve seen.

This is a very rare pattern and the only one I’ve ever seen or know of stamped Terrier.

Most of the ones I’ve seen have the pressure molded black composition handles, but bone handled ones do exist.

Some call these “carriage knives”.

There is a Prest-O-Lite square key on the hoof hook to turn on and off the supply of acetylene to early brass headlamps on carriages and early automobiles.

All blades have great snap, except the screwdriver. Interestingly, it is stamped,

The blades on this knife were covered in a cosmoline like substance than came off with nail polish remover and a bit of effort.

I’m really pleased to have gotten this knife.

The little pearl congress is a real eye catcher for me.

I am pleased to have it. It’s an old warrior that has done its duty.

3 5/8” long.

Appears to have ebony handles, but Robeson used some smooth black, non- shiny composition material and I cannot readily tell what this is. If it’s ebony, it’s really dense.

Nickel-silver escutcheon shield.

Spear master, punch and spey blades.
Nice snap on the spey and punch. Not so much on the spear.

Pattern number 235/632.

Master and spey stamped:

TERRIER
CUTLERY
ROCHESTER, N.Y.

Punch stamped:

PAT APR
25 05

There is a dog’s head logo on the back of the spey blade.

A nice old, circa 1910 to 1916, one hundred and eight or so, year old knife gifted by a good friend.

Doesn’t get much better than that.
