Just got this sweet stag Fight'N Rooster LockBack Whittler today. Very nice knife and an incredible deal.
BTW--I bought it from an eBay seller that I know some members have had problems with in the past but from whom I have had nothing but cool knives, amazing bargains and superb service for many years--Perhaps I'm just lucky...or maybe I'm just not expert/picky enough to care. (Shout out to The Dusty Duck himself, Bill Swan, aka, sportcolbs).

That is one outstanding whittler, Q. Does AGR regularly offer "fat" stag? Judging from the deeply recessed pivot pin that stag might have some thickness to it. Is the Wharnie supported by two independent springs or is it a splitback design?

Thanks, Tony. The stag on mine isn't as fat as the stag I've seen on other examples of this knife, so I can't explain the deeply sunk rocker pin. The wharnie is supported by two separate, fully independent backsprings. All blades have good crisp snap and the two fat-belly pen blades also have solid half stops. Apparently, AG Russell wanted to fit the most knife possible into the 3 1/8" frame and had the BG-42 steel ground as thin as was functionally possible. At first, it may seem like a delicate little knife, but it's actually tough as nails and precision engineered---but, what else would you expect from anything AG puts his name on?

1995 honey bone swell center 3 spring whittler

Very cool shot of that S&M, Ivoryman...it appears to be hovering just above the plants.

Nice bone on the Case Classic, too. Just realized yours has a spear master blade...seems I mostly only ever see them with a wharncliffe master. What's the pattern number on that one?

Nice bones on both those whittlers, Greg. I've always been a fan of Case 6.5 bone stag, and the color of your Craftsman is superb.

Thanks Sunknife, not new, guessing 1980s or so, could be off, never looked it up or if I did, forgot the age. But great knife, a lot of old Roosters are and cost me half what a new GEC would be. Good value. Thanks again.

Nice pic of your whittler John. I've found myself looking at a lot of those Case 1/2 whittlers on e-bay lately. When I find the one that is just right, you know the ...'how can I pass this up deal'...., I'll likely have one of my own.
