Randy, saying you did good is getting a bit repetitious. Your 72 group is really growing. Congrats.
Hey Doglegg your post made me count my 72’s and it’s clones. I’m up to 49 of them

That is a stunning 72, Randy. The etch and jigging are especially nice. You have been having some great luck as of late!

Nice one Doglegg

that’s one I hope to find myself. Along with the flying ducks I have an Ole Smoky. I love the black bone handles on these. One of these days I hope to add one like yours to the pile!

Floyd, you're a lucky duck. It's been my experience that of the three, that one is the most difficult to find.

Added another 72 to my group. This one is a Long Line tang stamp with black handles and Federal shield. This is an earlier production black handle long line tang stamp, which has the smaller size numeral 72 similar to the short line camillus 72. The later produced Long Line tang stamp 72's had a larger numeral stamp. This one does have some wear, The master clip blade tip is blunted, and I believe the secondary clip blade tip has been re-profiled. All blades have no wobble, the secondary clip & coping blade have great snap, the master clip blade had decent snap, but less than the others. I plan on soaking it and cleaning a the inside wells, maybe might improve. But either way, will make a good functional EDC 72. The bottom photo shows the difference between the large and small stamp 72

That’s another good looking 72 Smitty.

Any idea when Camillus changed the size of the 72 stamp? Guess I’ll dig mine out and take a look at the pile side stamps. A perfect EDC! Thanks for sharing!

I picked up another 72. The handles on this one appealed to me. There are a few scratches on blades but other than that it doesn’t appear to have seen much use.
