Geeeeeez man, that's my exact strategy. Here I thought it was just me. Skip the first page because I know it's going to get more attention and competition. Or so I thought. Guess there are more second pagers out there than I figured. What was I thinking? Just happy with what I got and you scored too. Congrats.

I tried the 'second page' strategy on a previous NW run (Big Bay ?). At check out my pick was already gone so i went back, now only one page, put another into cart, check out --- Gone. So i went back to try again but every knife, all handle materials, gone.
I think many buyers try this strategy.

It appears that everyone uses a certain strategy to try to improve their chances at success s that suggests it is just pure luck that the one you select hasn't already been chosen and will remain in your cart to completion. I also set up my PayPal acct with a preferred payment method and the one touch payment option that require no log in.

In the past i have had the PP 'one touch' payment set up but after a few days it reverted back to the log in system. I will call PP to find how to stay 'one touch', because i think this is the key to scoring a NW. You can loose because someone else is one millionth of a second ahead of you.

As for the knife, I'm sure you're going to enjoy that #56 Bird Dog. They are a very nice size and a very nice knife.

I am enjoying the #56 even though it's only been a few hours. Don't know if I'm gonna carry it or not yet but it sho is purty!
I must admit, I'm really looking forward to the Maher and Grosh, at the end of this month too!

Yep, since I've never owned a Gunstock pattern by GEC, I thought it was time to get in on one of these, so Barry has one reserved for me in autumn gold jig bone.

Alright, I went a little crazy and got another Whaler . But I figured when would I get another chance. And I’m glad I did!

These little 25s are very nice! The pioneer bone is cool.

I agree, clean lines, no 'clutter', just essential knife. I do not have any #25 knives but will watch for one, hopefully as nice as yours.

Gsmith, I agree. I like the jig one that.

My second 43. This one really is smooth on the pull. Not saying it's light but it just pulls open so nice and has nice tallk

This one came in today and my goodness. What a knife! GEC has out done themselves on these 44 Gunstocks.

I too just received a #44 Gunstock with top quality ebony wood for the handles. I agree with Greg, every aspect is right on, the knife could not be better. Great pattern, great workmanship and shaving sharp too.
Here is a knife i like more than i expected to: a #23 liner lock and with caps. I think caps make the #23 & #73 patterns look more 'finished' and they also make for a slightly stronger knife. I have never had a GEC with a liner lock and i wanted to try one.
I am very impressed with this 235109ECL. The liner lock is solid ! Zero play up-down, side to side or back-front. The knife is slender but large enough to do whatever you want in cutting. I see it as ideal for an outdoors EDC with the liner lock to keep you safe.
I bought this from Nordic Knives, a dealer with mostly custom knives, for $125 which i see as a fair price for a GEC that is not often seen.
Do you see this as a reasonable price ? or, on the high side. I'm asking because i am not good at getting 'deals' and think that i sometimes pay more than other knifers would.

Maybe a little on the high side, but those are long sold out these days. You might get lucky to see/buy one on Ebay but they don't come around often at all.

Nice one, by the way. As stated in another thread, I think the end caps on 23s & 73s are super nice looking.

Roland, you could probably make money on that on ebay. Good looking knife. Enjoyed your review.
