I'm sure that will get plenty of use. No room for slackers at the Scott casa. Next you need to get the matching hatchet.
Thank you!

I'd prefer the camp machete actually.....the poll on the axe is too wimpy, you need something that seperates the wood!!
Are you talking about the 108 Compadre Froe?

The least expensive one I've seen is on ebay for $122 and they go up from there. ---► https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R ... e&_sacat=0

Well, I forgot this isn't the "Off Topic" It's in the Mail. Whoops.

I paid roughly $8 shipped for these; from the UK. I didn't notice until near auction end that the Benbros Ferguson TE-20 was missing the right rear wheel, but I did notice the seller had a really nice Matchbox Ford Power Master from the '60s--with all four tires intact. I paid just under $2 each, plus shipping.

Things may be slowly returning to normal, but I am betting these will not arrive on my doorstep until early July. eBay is saying June 12-25. Even pre-COVID international shipping was always a lottery. Sometimes a week, sometimes a month; from the same countries and shipping method. Canada, the UK, Germany, and Japan are the four I've regularly ordered stuff from over the years--usually diecast.

The Benbros Ferguson will be getting a full-on restoration. New wheels (probably robbed from a cheap playworn ERTL; if not found in my junk diecast box), new paint (a bit darker yellow, to match "industrial" colors); and detailing. I want to add fenders, but am not sure how.

Aside from tiny chips, the MBX Ford is fine. Steering wheel and tires are all there, which is all that matters, given this thing is nearly 60 years old now. To look more realistic, and help hold the tires on (the plastic shrinks with age, as it's cellulose acetate; same thing with older synthetic-handle knives), I will paint the wheels white.

On another note, I've gotten a lot of great deals from UK sellers with smaller scale diecast items on US eBay because no one seems to bid on them. I can get decent condition, harder to find pieces for like a buck or two plus the $8 or so shipping. Anything much bigger than a Matchbox car, and of heavy weight can get expensive when shipping, so keep that in mind.

Some fixed blades. About $40 for the four. I will say I got a good deal on the AG Russell (as it's been out of production since probably the early 2000s and doesn't come up too often) and Schrade combo, and a decent deal on the Buck and Gerber; since the Gerber is still being made (and a cheap import model at $33) and the Buck just got discontinued a couple of years back.

Lot 1; $24 for the two. Gerber doesn't look used, Buck does. Gerber EXO MOD Drop Point and Buck El Morro. The Buck, if I recall, was originally an SFO for Walmart; but USA-made. About $20 new if I recall, so not an expensive knife (I view it as Buck's answer to the Mora knife, which was really becoming popular at that time). The EXO MOD is a lightweight hunting/backpacking knife from Gerber. They also make a saw and a caping knife. I'm buying the saw, as the sheaths snap together for combined carry. It's a China-made model, so 7Cr17 steel. I've not had good experience with it, whether on SOGs or Chinese Schrade. Maybe this will change. The Buck is their great Bos heat treat, Edge 2X ground 420HC. Both are full-tang and really lightweight (2.4 oz. for the Gerber!) Plastic sheaths that I can clean out in the sink, whether it be fish guts, animal internals, or just dirt from out weed-eating and working. The Gerber's lightweight, but big (3 3/4") and decently thick blade excite me for a work knife. The El Morro, in comparison, should make a great pocket fixed blade.
s-l1600GEMBEM.jpg

Lot 2: $22. AG Russell (made in Japan) Deer Hunter and some cheap Chinese Schrade. AG Russell, when I bought my hunter scalpel new from them a few months back, mentioned it as being a "scaled down model of the Deer Hunter". Didn't show up in their catalog, so I presumed it discontinued. Took me four months to find one. This I presume to be that model. Appears to be about the size of a Mora Basic (4" blade, 4" ish handle), and it features an ATS-34 blade (which is an older steel used on many of the lightweight Japan-made offerings before they started using VG-10 and AUS-8). Gonna have to make a dangler for belt carry. I wear the Hunter Scalpel around my neck on a breakaway chain, but this is a full-size fixed blade. The tiny Hunter Scalpel gets in the way enough, even under my T-Shirt. Pocket or belt for this one. The Schrade is saved for the next POS Exchange. I don't really buy that many crappy knives; and when I get one in a lot, I usually forget I have it by the time of the POS Exchange.

Nice! Practical pattern too. I have one horn-handled knife, a Victorinox Companion from the '50s.

Old bone, old horn, and especially old stag and pearl knives automatically go to the display case. I dislike most of the pre-Delrin synthetics due to stability issues and/or fragility (esp. Bakelite-related plastics like LF&C's "Rubberoid), so my choice for old users is usually cocobolo or rosewood.

Both of these have been on my wish list for a long time so when I ran on to both in the same auction I decided it was time to fish or cut bait. Gixen did my sniping for me & hopefully the seller will get them in the mail tomorrow. Finally, a trick knife and a key knife to add to the pile.

The trick knife has a couple of spots on the pile side handle that are a little concerning but for the price, I can live with 'em.

Is that an Imperial key jack? If so, it's much like one in my collection, but with a different key blank and in better condition. You done good!

I will definitely be acquiring more of these, plus a Sack-Ups roll or two to hold all of 'em.

I have been wanting one of these Barnett knives for a while, and finally got the winning bid on this rough specimen.

Restoral looks like a challenging job, but one that I look forward to. I expect to make rear bolsters and then patch the bone, if I am able.
