They stay here on the Gulf coast all year. I never see a big flock up high like I used to during migration time. Those flocks were thirty to sixty years ago: I have read that they stop north of us now.

Speaking of migration, this afternoon I spotted the first Swallow-tailed Kite of the year over my garden. What a beauty!

Who doesn't love bluebirds. Year round around here and I love them. Great pics.

Here's a nice little Merganser.

It's been by its self for several days now. Odd for this time of year.

For a small pond it has a lot going on. Saw a muskrat yesterday.

Also these Canada geese nest on this point every year.

Showed up yestiddy.

He wuz strutting his stuff , but the gals wuz more interested in the groceries.

That's a fine gobbler!
We hadn't seen a turkey since 2018 after Hurricane Michael, saw 3 on a game camera a few weeks ago and saw one flying over the dirt road not long ago. Maybe they'll make a comeback if the coyotes don't overpower them.
Love to see them in the woods.
A Butterball from the Piggly Wiggly is much better eating to me.

Back again this morning, Peter cotton tail was not impressed.

We got our first House Wren of the year today.

Dreary bike ride through a marsh yesterday.

Pretty weak shot, but if you squint those white spots are trumpeter swans.

Then just some nesting geese.
