Take Care . ::tu::
JP, those three are for sure. I have a McGrew that is also black bone. I had posted before that I thought it was and after investigation it is indeed.

What Dog?? Someone actually used their knife? What were they thinking? I know what you mean though. I was thinking just the other day how crazy it is to see all of these pristine 60+ year old knives. I thought back in the day they were "tools". I guess not!
Nice grab BTW, all of my 72's have been carried and sharpened. How dare them! :D
On these Camillus black bone knives they are usually found in pristine condition. I don't know why but most of the time they are unused. But I appreciate your humor.
Wow, I didn't realize that. I kinda' look like a jerk now. I didn't mean to. I can never find a 72 in really good shape, unless they are way high priced. I hope I didn't offend, I promise I was just messin' around. Have a great evening!
Not a jerk at all. I took it in the spirit given. Jerry was the first to mention that on this particular group of knives that the majority are found unused. No offense taken. I really saw the humor. Thanks ::handshake::

Added a couple of 72's to the Family back in December and January.

First from December, a Camillus Ole Smoky. It's like new, excellent snap on all blades, blade etch is still bold, and has bone handles. I believe you guys have said this was a SFO by Smokey Mountain Knife Works. I was finally glad to add one to my group.

Last month while I was down at my Uncles house, I was able to go by a local trade day. Found this Camillus Long Line 72. Blades are in great shape with factory luster, with great snap and little wear. Couldn't pass it up. ::super_happy::

I just picked this up out of a vintage store today. A Camillus long line with no pattern number and a Boy Scout shield on the bright white covers. It's a whittler with clip, pen clip, and coping blades. 3 5/8" long, so it appears to be pattern 72. This is a big thread, so I'm continuing to browse and meet a lot of 72s.

And now I know it is a '1047' from the early 1980s I guess?

Nice !
That one doesn’t have any cracks in the white covers . Most of them crack by the center pin on both sides . Yours looks good ,nice 1047 . ::tu:: .

I had this beat 72/1047 that needed to be rehandled. Decided to go with the MONEY handle material. Clear acrylic with pieces of shredded US currency mixed in.

Jim, if it's a 1047 it won't have a pattern stamp on the blade. If it's a 72, it will be stamped 72.
