Sorry to read this, Skip. Pets are like family members, especially indoor pets that are around you 24/7.

Sorry for your loss Skip.
We had a similar loss here this week. We lost our old livestock guard dog, Big Dog. He was 13 which is old for a dog that size. He’s chasing coyotes full time now.

Skip, it always grieves me to see someone else lose a pet especially when they have been a member of the family for over a decade. Wish there were the perfect words for times like this but there aren’t. Your loss is felt by many who have walked that same road. God bless.

Thanks Jerry. I know you have an Akbash Dog also. They are uniquely special dogs. (All dogs are, in their own way).
I took our Lab, Mazie to the vet yesterday for her annual shots and checkup. When we exited the exam room and into the lobby, there was an Akbash Dog waiting with its owner. You don’t often see them. From her reaction Mazie apparently thought initially it was Big Dog, but she quickly realized it wasn’t.
I had a good visit with the dog’s owner about the Akbash breed and their inherent traits. My wife is already talking about finding another Akbash to replace him. We no longer have any sheep or goats, so not sure it would be fair to the dog.

Ken, I just realized I overlooked this. I know how much your dogs mean to you and I know your loss. Big Dog looked like a great dog. God bless.

My daughter sent me a Goggle collage of our little Shih Tzu.

- His name is Zeke
I think all the pictures were taken during several times she was dog sitting for us.
