This Camillus High Carbon Steel arrived this morning. It’s a first gen with nickel silver liners. The center liner is coined. The tip of the master blade has been reprofiled and the bones are in good condition. Not bad for 35 bucks!

Found this old scout knife floating in the Bay. It has those old shrinky dink black handles that are shrunk.
20211230_113444.jpg
But it still has lots of blade left.
20211230_113502.jpg
But best of all.......it's a SHORT-LINE!!!!! Be still my heart.

Found this black bone handled 72 while fishing on the dock of the bay recently. It is the standard one with no blade etch. Also strangely enough it has been actually used and sharpened.

I think those 3 were the only 72's in those covers but I've got a 709 pattern and there may have been other patterns as well.

What Dog?? Someone actually used their knife? What were they thinking? I know what you mean though. I was thinking just the other day how crazy it is to see all of these pristine 60+ year old knives. I thought back in the day they were "tools". I guess not!
Nice grab BTW, all of my 72's have been carried and sharpened. How dare them! :D

On these Camillus black bone knives they are usually found in pristine condition. I don't know why but most of the time they are unused. But I appreciate your humor.

Wow, I didn't realize that. I kinda' look like a jerk now. I didn't mean to. I can never find a 72 in really good shape, unless they are way high priced. I hope I didn't offend, I promise I was just messin' around. Have a great evening!
