Nice looking knife Cody!

Congrats Buddy!
Thanks! I'm also going to try to make a pocket-friendly Kydex with clip sheath for it, as at 6 3/4" OAL, it's not really too big for a back pocket knife. It will be my first attempt at Kydex work.
I'll have to Google Kydex.
Hey Tom, Kydex is a name brand of a Thermoplastic acrylic PVC blended material that a lot of new holsters and combat knives sheaths are made of. It's also the same material used inside aircraft. The neat thing about it is, you can heat it with a heat gun and conform it to the shape you like, or form it around items. If a person is really skilled, they can make some good looking items with it. There are several UT videos that show people working with it.
Cody, be sure to post some updates.

Got this lot of "cigar cutters" off the store here for $20 shipped. The odd "Firestone" advertising tool was mainly what made me buy it. It's got a ruler, wire cutter, knife blade, screwdriver, bottle opener, and what I think is a crimper, not a cigar cutter. I want to say I've seen one before, and it may have a file as well. The bartender knife, while worn, looks old and of good quality. The pearl-handled cigar punch will be used as a small marlinspike for untying my shoelaces.
The two knives center right accept a single-edge (or double-edge, I forgot--been a while since I was last looking at them) safety razor blade. If double edge, it gives me a good reuse for my Feather blades. I had been looking at getting one to replace my Gerber EAB (as even after being not sharp enough to shave painlessly, those Feather blades are as sharp as a new utility knife blade), but people wanted too much. The one at the left accepts the common single-edge usually sold as a scraper blade, so I'll keep some on hand.

I'd been planning this purchase, and set money aside for close to a year. To celebrate finishing my college classes for the near future (I'm taking a bit of a break to take an online IT course on my own schedule), I finally bought it. The generic Bronco clone was $15 cheaper, but I liked the C-10 much better. I had been stuck between this and the Kyosho Mini Z 4x4 Suzuki Jimny. The Kyosho was more than $50 more expensive (even after the fact this order had some assorted spare parts and a battery added; and $9 FedEx shipping as I hate SurePost/Smartpost shipping, even if it is free), fragile, and parts usually had to be sourced from Japan, as American Kyosho dealers rarely stock parts for all but the Mini-Z street cars. I had a 2WD Mini Z Overland Mitsubishi Pajero in my teens, which I bought used in poor condition, and that thing needed a lot of work, and parts. That is extra cost and waiting time--$20 shipping and waiting a month wasn't uncommon. Axial has several US dealers, the SCX-24 was cheaper, and parts are easy to get and rather inexpensive. I had to have 4-wheel drive (rare in smaller, less-expensive RC cars) and a decent ground clearance, without the truck looking like a monster. I loved the gunmetal color of the black version, but I preferred the more stock appearance of the teal one.
Axial SCX24 1967 Chevy C-10 crawler. This is an entry-level pro-grade car, but a bit smaller at 1/25 scale. That's as big as I go. Up until recently, I usually chose toy-grade RC cars one could buy from a store. They weren't very powerful, did not usually have proportional control, and were well, garbage. I'd spent enough on those since I was 9 to probably buy 4-5 SCX-24s. Pro-grade cars are tougher, more responsive, and usually anything that can be busted has replacement parts available.

It is rather interesting with the ornate brass handles. Appears to use the same razor-type blade as the others, but I'm not sure.

I have an older Kaufmann knife that is built like a Mercator, but considerably smaller (about 3 7/8"), a slipjoint, and has advertising for a rope company based in WA. Seems they made stainless and carbon versions for several decades. Otter recently brought that pattern back as a Mercator, since the sub-3" blade and slip joint mechanism makes it UK legal. I've carried that one a lot, and it's a really good knife. But, an older knife I'd like to retire. I'd say it's from the '50s.
I decided that the full-size Mercator would be a great work knife to replace a Chinese RR, but not as expensive as the Bear and Son or Eye Brand lockback Sodbusters (the RR "Work Knife" Sodbuster has a liner lock). And, even though made in Solingen, it's under $30, so still cheap.

Tom, they showed up today. It appears to be a basic cigar cutter. Ornate handles, brass all around (including blade). I'm putting my post together for the Mail Call thread as I type this.

Used the S.H. sale today.

The Zippo is on back order though, so it will be a while till it gets shipped to my mom's. And then mom will take a while to send them over to me. So here they are for a sneak preview. Could be 3-4 months until I finally get them but that's ok. I'll wait.
Thanks for looking friends!

Thanks Smitty!

I really like the shield. Reminds me of a Chevy.
It was marked down to $ 37 today. Normally cost

$ 49 or so.
Thought I would take advantage of the moment.

Great scores!
I really need to start picking up a few of the more interesting Zippos. All I have is a Street Chrome, and I've never even filled it. That one with the Mountain Lion looks great!
The Half Whittler and Mini Copperhead I've both been eyeing to replace some really old penknives and a Wharncliffe pattern in EDC. Case is taking a page from the Moore Makers they are now producing, and now have a small lineup of white bone/CV knives. The Half Whittler is among those, while so far, there has not seem to have been a CV Wharncliffe Mini Copperhead. I may get one.

I can barely remember what knives I ordered a week ago. And if they take more than a week to arrive, OCD Monkey throws a royal simian tantrum.

LOL!

Jerry & Q!

I know exactly how you feel!

I think the good Lord is teaching me the lesson of "patience".

It's a hard lesson because I'm a slow learner though.

I'm just Happy & Thankful that my mom is still around to help me feed my knife addiction.

Did I just say the "A" word?!?

@Dan:
The bit is too hard,
My teeth are soon gone,
They shouldn't make me,
Wait so long!
@Cody: Yes Sir, them Case Zippos are pretty! You should check out what they have over there at S.H. at the moment. Some real beauties! Turkey, Trout, Deer, Mountain Lion, Eagle ect. ect.
I see it this way, I believe that they will hold up in value good enough that I could always get my money back out of them if I ever wanted to. Which I don't think I ever will but who knows. And..., When I order something under $50 and have to pay the $6 shipping fee I always look at the S.H. "accessoires" to see what I can add to my cart to get over the $50 so that I can save the $6 shipping fee. Sometimes it's just a couple of pins & sometimes it's a Zippo.

So if you subtract $6 from the price of the Zippos, then they are really a good deal!!!

And..., it also supports the mother company of Case.

And..., it also encourages Zippo to make even more beautiful Case Zippos.

All these points are just in my opinion of course.
Oh, almost forgot one. And..., they really do look beautiful in a showcase along with Case knives! A "MUST" in my showcase anyways!

Plus they are a conversation piece in the showcase as well and you can explain the connection between Zippo, Case & Bradford, PA.
