How about 3 Schrade 863's rehandled in burnt elk horn. The first two by Herman Williams and the last one by our own Glennbad.

Glenn, I'm sorry to make you sad but you sure made me glad when you allowed me to be the one to get it. It is the most dramatic of the three.

What is the cutout/square dark area above the tang, on the knife 2nd from the right in your 1st picture on the "A few more" page, or in other words, the only knife with the clip-point blade? Thx!

Not a problem Mark. I have been proofing my recent pics for errors(out of focus; framing, etc.) . I'm surprised I missed it; reflections are one thing I try to eliminate.

Well, in my opinion, Rey, you do a fine job of avoiding reflections in your pictures, especially since you post so many of them.

Craftsman knives in the 72 pattern. All with a Craftsman tang stamp except the next to last one which has an Imperial tang stamp. The last one is my favorite with bone handles.

Two Forged IN U S A whittlers. I believe this was a Sears tang stamp. A traditional whittler and a first generation 72 style whittler. Both with wonderful bone handles.

Thank you! I appreciate the welcome. I'm a huge introvert and very socially awkward (never seemed to get the hang of it) so please forgive any little goofy nonsense you see me say

I can get a bit obsessive with things I love to collect. I also collect vintage plastic keychain puzzles (have about 450 so far), Pocketools (only need 3 more tools in the package and I will have one of everything they ever made), and once had over 4,000 PEZ dispensers. I love seeing the amazing variety of things out there, and have really enjoyed what I've seen here so far. Soooo many drool-worthy knives! I'll certainly keep reading through discussions. So much to learn.

Here is my opinion... Most Yale keys I've seen have the off-center point on the end. I did a Google search for "Vintage Yale Key Blank" and that seemed to hold true. I also did a search for "Vintage Russwin Key Blank" and they seem to favor the center point design. Also since the advert you showed is talking mainly about the Yale key as the default choice, I assume that would be the one they would show in the ad. The side note of "add an R for the other version" that it mentions makes me think that wouldn't be the main one they would show.

So I would say you have (from left to right in your picture) a 1210R and a 1220. Again, this is just my opinion from playing detective. I'm sure other, more expert opinions would be more concrete.

There does seem to be the possibility of other "custom" versions as well. The body copy of the ad says if you don't have a Yale or Russwin lock, then you can send in the key blank portion along with your key to their locksmith, and they will make your custom gold handle key to go in the knife. Then send it back to you at no charge. So you might still find another version of the key knife besides the default 4 out in the wild someday.
