You are welcome Sir! Any plans to bust the rust off? Just curious how you would do it. I have changed my ways this year, after getting a little too "aggressive" in some of my methods. I end up using the rubber eraser a lot more to see if that works 1st.

Amen GSPTD, a rubber eraser and sometimes a bit of toothpaste goes a long way. Best not to overdo abrasives.

I guess maybe some very fine steel wool with some oil on it. I tried the number 2 pencil on it, but it still has staining. Dont really know myself how to get it looking better. I'm like you though, I dont want to get aggressive with it. I'm open to suggestions for sure. The blades are full as can be, put it's a mess as far as the staining goes.

Sorry Ivoryman, just seen your post. Thanks for the feedback. I will try a rubber eraser and a bit of toothpaste. It's a Imperial Ireland Frontier. It is almost identical to my 8OT. A little thinner. Thanks again!

Maybe a small brass wire wheel on a dermal tool ... try buffing out the stains with that... it should not scratch the metal.

This stockman when I got it needed a good clean up . The blade were hard to open from filth .The scales were plastic imitation winter bottom bone .I packed it up with two other knifes and shipped them off to Reverend for some reconditioning.Shout out to Reverend ! Great job ! OK with new bone.

Recently added this A.G Russell stockman made in Springdale Arkansas in 1995. Stag handles and most likely carbon steel blades. I haven’t noticed any similarities between these and Queen or Camillus both of whom would make some knives for AGR. This one strikes me as one completely made by A.G.Russell in Arkansas. Rare bird in deed. Find it in my store Sharpnshinyknives .s

Servertonics consumer group bought Ontario knife co . In 1967 located in franklinville New York .In 1969 they bought Queen and ran both factories until 2012 when Queen was sold to the Danials family. The O.P. Knife dies have that classic Queen look and to me looks exactly like a Queen # 9 stockman but I may be wrong as I’m no expert . The two company’s were about 150 mile apart from one another .I guess the knife could have either been produced in New York or Pennsylvania or parts made in one plant and finished at the other .? I added a picture I found on Queen forum of what the O.P. Knife looked like before the new bone.
