That book is a great resource for Empire and many Shapleigh brands

HI everyone!

I am very aware of this awesome webiste but first time creating a account and posting.

So, I am a avid vintage slip joint collector of over 30yrs I guess and this weekend I found a Shapleigh Barlow as you see in these pics (not the best pics I know) I have been researching but I cannot find another duplicate of this knife online anywhere. I see other Shapleigh Barlows but not in this bone and no where online do I find a Shapleigh pocket knife with such a low product number on the tang. Of course I see all the mentions and pics of the Diamond Shapleigh's and Keen etc but again, I cannot find any online post that helps me actually age this knife.

It is very clean, actually pristine condition and as far as snap its got a gator bite, no wobble on either blades and no chips or cracks in this beautiful saw cut bone handles.

Hopefully someone in this great knife community can shed light on my find as "she's a real beauty' and I am so happy to add her to my over 400 oiece vintage slip joint knife collection.

I have no hard information on it, but I believe that it was made for Shapleigh by Camillus.
I have a Camillus Tip Top and the color and hating of the bone, the pin placement, and the single thread line on the bolsters looks just like mine.

If anyone can help I found this big Shapleih in dad’s stuff the other day been used a bit too say the least. Handles are very loose. Who would have made this. I’m thinking of getting it a makeover and then using it as everyday.

The one is called Christmas tree correct?
What is interesting is I thought slanted bolsters cool. I don’t remember them being slanted the same way?

I might be all wrong, but I believe that your knife and mine both came out of the same factory.
Mine is a Camillus 4-line (1941-1946). Pay no attention to the blades, as mine are not original to this knife. Most Tip-Top Barlows had clip point blades.

I think you're correct on the Christmas Tree color. I thought everything about this knife was pretty unique.
