Cool pick up Skip. I'll have to dig mine out and see how it is stamped. I know there is nothing on my spoon. ::tu::

Thank you Floyd. ::tu:: The spoon(s) I am not concerned about at all. I've only seen the knives and forks with dates. The dates are usually 1926 & 1942. I don't know about 1935, but I'll see when it gets here.

***** UPDATE *****
As of the time on this post, the utensil kit is in Kansas City, Kansas. It's "expected" to be here this Wednesday, the 10th. I do not have my hopes up for a 1935 patent date on either the knife, the fork, or on both.

This morning, this knife joins my collection. It is an unbranded, single blade, wire handle pocket knife. More than likely, a GEO SCHRADE. This knife came out of the scout style, utensil kit, that I bought last week (a few posts above this one). The seller thought it might have a 1935 patent date, it doesn't, it has a 1926 patent date. It didn't require much cleanIng. I took pictures, here it is.

Cool Skip, sorry it didn't have an unusual date. I checked mine and it has the 1942 date.

Thank you Floyd. ::tu:: Deep down, I knew it didn't have a 1935 patent date.

Still, a very nice Wirejack even though it wasn't the year you were looking for. But look on the bright side.......the hunt continues!! And isn't that really half the fun of collecting?

No Smitty, the hunt doesn't continue. There is no 1935 patent date for the wire handle knife, or for the wire handle fork. But the tang stamp isn't that common, so I'm not disappointed. ::tu:: :D

Skip must have been sleeping. First time in weeks that I snatched one off of ebay before he got me. It's rusty but it's got a double tang stamp I need.

No joeradza, not sleeping. My attention was diverted down a different collecting path.
Congratulations on the double tang stamp. ::tu::

Thanks Skip. I couldn't resist since the pickings have been scarce lately.

I just received these today. A Boy Scout Mess Kit in excellent condition. The case is supple with no names inscribed and the spoon and fork look unused. The knife is still in great shape although it does show signs of use. Couldn’t resist at the price of a couple of Big Mac’s. The small spear point has the double tang stamp so that fills a gap.

I've been told it is WB Manufacturing, Wisconsin or Wallace Bros.

That's the same marking that was on my Girl Scout kit I posted earlier in the thread.
