Would you describe that as a Kephart variation?

Hi Cal.. Yes I would.. Its is called a Bushcrafter by L.T. .. I think it maybe a midge taller than a Kephart but real close..

Here's a couple you don't see too often. Schrade cut co. Made by kinfolks and a WWII era camillus army/navy pilots knife.

The sheath was very stiff and dirty. A little saddle soap and Pecard's did wonders.Not an original sheath though as gunsil says the sheath was marked like the blade etch, "Kamper". Very pleased with it overall, the knife is in excellent condition. I think this was carried more than it was used. Looking at the checking with a magnifier, the diamonds are pretty well still pointed and the blade still has some factory finish on it as well as a decent etch. No signs of improper sharpening or other abuse. Couple of pictures for the record.

You know i'm not to sure if the tang stamps on fixed blades track with the folders Maybe. I'm guessing this one's pre war . Super nice thistle top by the way Nice condition on that one, with the etch still visible. I really like the old Union Cut Co fixed blades.

EBM, Steve that is a show. Really like the handle on the Kamper.

I found out at the Lewisberg PA show that these handles on the Kamper model are NOT wood but an early synthetic. A gentleman at the show had one like mine with a piece knocked out of the handle in the checked section. The handle is hollow and the broken edges did not look like wood. Sorry about the incorrect statement earlier.

I haven't ran across a Cattaraugus quite like this, but from what I've read this was probably made by Kinfolk.
Is that handle material celluloid? The blade shape reminds me of a Marble's Woodcraft. I like the ricasso stamp too, they made some beautiful knives.

Anyone with an extra Cattaraugus sheath laying around that would fit this blade shoot me a PM with a picture, thanks!

Nice old Cat! I think it is from Kinfollks as gunsil says the aluminum guards are a tell for a Kinfolks knife. Can't help with the sheath.

1943/1944 transition square-cut inserts, first stampings. Spa treatment by Mike and Mark Hangas. Just got it back today. Also 1953ish advertisement reproduction.

I love those old butterscotch Kinfolks, RedRyder. The sellers usually call them Bakelite, but I don't know if that is accurate. I think that it could be.

Just found this thread and would like to share this LF&C Fixed Blade Hunter - 10" OAL and some cool stag (probably Sambar based on thickness with no pith) - blade is essentially unsharpened and this may be the original tube sheath... I think the knife was probably stored in the sheath and though the obverse (or mark side) had a few age spots on the reverse side there is abit of "peppering" meaning most likely that side of sheath had some moisture that affected that side of blade... anyway my understanding is it was made in the 1880s-1890s at a time LF&C was much more involved in making fancy kitchen and dining knives, and before they started making pocket knives in 1912 (after they acquired H&B)...
