It’s 3 5/8s closed and the main blade is on two springs. This pattern was in Bernard Levine’s Knife World column a while back and I was able to buy the HTT magazine from him.

That knife was in"wuz it"in Blade Mag last year,I cant remember the month, but it is a neat knife.

Here's a Providence Cutlery Germany. Dates 1890-1915, not sure how rare, but it is kinda old. The only drawback is a piece of the pile side cover is missing. However, love how the blades nest.

Some mighty fine examples of oldies in here folks! Here's a few of my old and rare brands. AMERICAN SHEAR CO. ebony Jack 1870s era and a Celluloid handled HARTFORD CUTLERY Jack 1914 to 1939. the HARTFORD is pretty tired but the fact that it still exists is enough for me!

Two oldies but goodies!

This is only the second knife I have seen with this mark and was not lucky enough to get the other one but am real happy to have found this one!!! I have had the box and little leather sheath for years and have been waiting for a knife to go with them. I also have a letter from the company also. Levine's does not show the name but Goins' has them listed in Elmira from 1875-1887. Companies that were formed after that seem to have been in business till 1981!!

What is the length of that knife?

It looks very much like this large 4 1/4" Robeson pre-1900 whittler that was either made in Germany, though it is not so marked, or at the Sherwood and Bingham cutlery in Camillus for Millard F. Robeson.

Robeson lived in Elmira. I'm wondering if there is some connection between him, his knife source at the time and Barker, Dounce, Rose & Co.

Charlie it's 3 5/8 and yesthey look the same. I don't think Germany but the Sherwood thought might be right or Binghamton Cutlery or Cronkite & Carrier
