Thank you Joe. ::handshake:: Happy Thanksgiving to you!
Here's something you might like. A large brass Collins stencil, probably for crates.

I picked up this Craftsman single blade axe at an estate sale last week.
It still had a paper sticker on the handle, though it was about to fall off.

Other than a little paint rubbed off the head it was in excellent condition for $10.
Not an old one, but it will cut wood! ::nod::

Here are a few NOS heads around 100 years old. The one that says Standard is from Ridgway, Pennsylvania which is an hour south of Case in Bradford and an hour and a half from GEC and Queen in Titusville. These belong to a friend of mine.

Those are really neat. I especially like that bluegrass being from Kentucky and all.

Thank you Colonel. Bluegrass is a very collectible brand of axe. I had one once but traded it away to someone who collects them. I like Pennsylvania made knives and axes. Case, GEC and Queen. Warren Axe and Tool in Warren Pa. and Mann Edge Tool in Lewistown, Pa.

I can see why. Bluegrass being a hardware firm had everything from knives to tools to housewares stamped bluegrass. So there is a bluegrass something or other for everybody to collect. Bluegrass marked stuff does bring a premium here among collectors, as I am sure the Pennsylvania brands do there.

You have a very nice collection.

........mike,speaking of hatchets, I still have my old boy scout hatchet, it's a Bridgeport, still has the original riveted-on wood handles, and it's in very good condition, but it's missing the scabbard...I think it was bought in the late '40's-early '50's....what's it worth???.......... ::tu:: ......................
