This is off of one of my favorite bluegrass/folk CDs, from Chuck Ragan & Austin Lucas. The CD is titled Bristle Ridge, the song is Bells. It reminds me of a Civil War song for some reason, I think they used a 5 piece which I really like as well. Not traditional but has a traditional sound if you ask me, hope you enjoy. ::tu::

Dug up this thread just for T.J. Thought he might be able to relate to this one.

I don't know where I've been. Must have been under a rock 'cause I've never heard of Guy Clark.

Someone posted that 'Randall Knife' song in a Randall thread that's going on right now. It's responsible for me finding this song.

Yeppers, I've used them Black Diamond Strings before. They always included an extra G,B and E string in the pack.

Here's another different song called "Black Diamond Strings by Larry Cordel, who also wrote "Murder on Music Row"

The fellow playing the fiddle is Jay Unger. He wrote and introduced the world to the song "Ashoaken Farewell". This is the song that was played throughout the PBS series "The Civil War".

Good ones T.J.

Did you see the post where the guy said "perfect pitch is an accordion hitting a banjo in the dumpster." Cracked me up.

I haven't read all the way through this thread but when someone mentions Cuntry/Bluegrass I can't leave out the SteelDrivers. One of my favorite bands overall.

How 'bout a little "Guitars, Wiskey, Guns and KNIVES"

I can understand why you like 'em. They're pretty darned good. I hope you don't mind, I like the studio versions better.

Steeldrivers are pretty tough now, both versions of the band. Never followed them much but do like their stuff.

Not Country and not Bluegrass, but one of the most beautiful Gospel songs written. Performed by the writer, Squire Parsons.

Very nice song. He has a great voice. I'm committing the sin of envy here. If I could sing like that, I'd be singing every day, all day.
