Thank you David! I just keep admiring it!! And I never owned a Schrade 175. What a useful knife. And the feel of that Stag in my hand is just outstanding. I just hope I can bring myself to drop it in my pocket. It's just so beautiful to me.

My disclaimer was posted because I didn't get that knife in RECENT mail, it came over 2 yrs. ago in the mail. My contention was that since it didn't come in RECENT mail, which I believe this thread, "Mail Call...etc." is about, was it O.K. too post it here anyway, even though it's not from RECENT mail. Those are waaay cool, Tony, I actually have 2 sitting in Customs waiting to be destroyed for being the deadly "Push-Converter" knife! Yours is the 1st I've seen serrated mind you.

That is pretty cool Tony. That conversion from push to regular fixed blade makes that one more desirable in my opinion. Can’t see a lot of use for a push blade dagger by itself.

Thanks Mark! When I first saw this one, had to have it because it's different. As you know, the conversion and lock is for using the saw, but in a hunting emergency, it could be used as a push dagger for defense. The blade type and it's length, is a bit too much for skinning to me, even with having big hands, although it would skin. I prefer a slightly smaller upswept blade for skinning, like a Western L66 at 8 3/4" OAL. One inch can make a difference in how a knife performs, or maybe how I perform with it. My L66 has seen a lot of use.

For a package today from Tom’s (Bestgear) Cosgrove Cutlery store from here on AAPK. Farm and Field 62 in a Rosedale Richlite handle. It’s going to be my backup to my Tidioute 62 in white bone. Him being kind and knowing I put my whittlers to work, even sent a basswood block to use it on!

This is the second such knife I have found, but it is in perfect condition. In general, most pocket knives from the former USSR after 1960 are complete trash, but this model is one of the few exceptions.

Very interesting knife Eustace, looks like something practical for cleaning fish.


This one just arrived yesterday. Trying to fill out my RCC collection. Got this Congress with mastodon ivory scales. Simply beautiful. There is just something about a Congress knife that speaks to me.

Thanks Mark. These were made by Queen. I think that the Robeson line that Queen made is just as good as the Schatt and Morgan line. They used different scales on the Robeson’s than the S&M so if you want to collect a pattern you need to collect the other brands that Queen made. Colonel Coon knives are also made with mostly different scales, stag is the exception. If a person were to go after all the Congresses made by Queen or any pattern, it would encompass a whole lot of other brands to collect all the various handle materials. Something I might try to do some day.

I believe I was bidding against you on that one. It looks way nicer in your pictures. I think I might be a tad jealous. I do like Robesons better than Schatt and Morgan.
