VERY nice collection of fixers, John
I really like the looks of the eagle handled knife, but all of them are awesome.

Cheers mate, the notch is called a cho, loads of theories to what it is from a notch to stop blood running onto your hand ( doesnt work lol) a spiritual reason? A metallurgy theorie is that the blade edge is heat treated harder to hold a edge better and the spine is softer for flex, having the notch means less stress at that point ? But too be honest there has been debates for years about the Cho , I personally just think it's a decorative thing as different makers do different stylesRipster wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 12:53 pmNice ,my Son is into those a bit, he’s out in the woods a lot.zed6309 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 12:35 pm My 2 Gurkhas khukuri's both Service no1's field use and parade , the parade one is from the 70's and was a gift and has a interesting storyit's long lol the field one I use on camp

As for the Cho, I wonder if that was the beginning of the word "choil",
or...?

Hi Garry.. Thank You..Quick Steel wrote: ↑Sat Feb 13, 2021 8:02 pm The first photo: I've never seen that Case pattern before. I like it a lot, especially if it will take a keen edge.
Nice one Mike! I picked up a Cambridge Cutlery bowie hunter awhile and it seems to be a great knife.Goins lists the name (in my copy which is an early one)but no information. If I had to guess I would say early 1900's.ScoutKnives wrote: ↑Mon Feb 15, 2021 12:17 am I picked up this little dagger with original sheath at the gator show .
