Pulled this worn and abused 72 from a junk pile of knives.
The well was nasty and blades were lazy.
I soaked in wd40 for a bit, wiped it down and oiled the blades, and now it works like it should and holds an edge.
I find it in my pocket about as much as any knife I have. I don't worry about using it for dirty jobs!

You have given it a new lease and some fresh oil and ready to use and a great save and can’t go wrong toting a 72 . The steel in the long line period holds a great edge it’ll serve you well .

Hey Greg! Great to hear from you! We should talk about that. PM me with what you have. It’s been a while and I don’t recall which ones you have. I hope you’re well my friend. ::handshake:: The last couple of years have been rough. Let me know how you’re doing.

P.B. the little blade is great for scrapping around the ends of the horse bones... But not so much on the "Papa Bones"

Just won this first gen 72 on the bay this morning. I was afraid that I was going to loose another one. 61 bucks. I think its worth it but won't know until I get to fondle it for a bit. ::tu:: Here are a couple of the seller's pics. I'll post new pics after I receive the knife! Double saber grind too. It should clean up real nice!

Thanks JP. Now the waiting begins! Going to do more work on your 72 tomorrow. Horrible storm coming in Sunday so I have to stay in doors. I’ll update you on progress when I have something to show. It’s going to be something! I’m also going to do one for myself.

I'm sure I've shown this one here before but I ran across it tonight and thought some of the newer guys might enjoy it. Randy Everhart(goldpan) rehandled this old first gen for me in some Case Greebone that he removed from one of my fixed blades. The boy has got skills.
