We ended up keeping two of our four puppies so these are our two newest family members. ::nod::
Please meet Cricket (Back) & Nalu (Front). ::super_happy::

Very cute pups, Tom! 😻

These two are now 7 years older. Luna (the mother) sleeps a lot, and Ireland (the kitten) still plays a lot. Time flies when you're having fun. 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛

Thanks. Annabelle is a good girl. We cut the pieces of turkey quite small for her. She recently had oral surgery to remove 6 teeth due to dental resorption.

Big Dog with his friend the chicken. Our chickens free range - I think she has found the safest place to be! ::paranoid:: Aside from at night when she’s in the chicken house, they are inseparable.

Meet Teddy, the wife's four-legged tootsie roll dispenser. He's about 9 months old.
And Honey, a blue heeler stray that just took up residence here. Completely deaf, vet says she's about 4 y/o.

Sorry to share this sad news during the holidays. We had to put our old dog Tucker down today. He was almost 14 years old. He was a rescue that we adopted. Here are a few pictures of him from the beginning to the last one taken today. He suffered from canine dementia. The last few weeks have been unreal. My wife hasn’t gotten more than an hour and a half of sleep for the last week. He paced, he whined and just couldn’t lay down for some reason. Many times he almost fell down from falling asleep while standing. He had an urge to get under and behind everything he could. Knocked down the Christmas tree twice in one night. It was a hard decision to make and has caused us much pain and tears. But we know it was for the best. God speed Tucker.

Mark, I'm sorry for your loss. It's never an easy thing to go through, but you can take comfort in knowing that you provided him a loving home for many years. I'm down to only one dog and he's about 14-15 years old, so I know some tough days await.

Sorry to hear this. We are in the same boat, losing our little Molly a couple days before Christmas. I went through nearly the same thing as your wife for several weeks, actually sleeping on the floor with Molly several hours each night so she could settle down enough for both of us to get some sleep. Molly loved opening her own Christmas presents and always tried to sneak them out from under the tree before Christmas. I grieve with you.____Dave

Thank you Dave and Rick.
Sounds like you had a real struggle with the decision too Dave. It’s difficult and feels a bit selfish to have to make that call on whether your dog lives or dies. On the farm where I grew up, it was a decision that had to be made many times and I had seen enough to know what’s coming with Tucker weeks ago. But my wife, bless her heart, just couldn’t get there until Christmas night when it got really bad.
This is the 4th dog we have lost since we started rescuing dogs back in 2011 and it doesn’t get easier with time, just seems to get harder. We still have 3 other dogs to keep us busy though for the foreseeable future.

I'm so sorry too, Sharp.
Our little Lillie was a very hard one to let go. I laid with her her last night on our bed and cuddled her before we took her to the vet to let her go the next morning. Our cat, Banjo was lingering on our bed for hours before he passed. He even reached out one paw to me. It was incredibly heartbreaking. My condolences and deepest sympathy.

Chloe didn't seem to mind too much.
Of course, a stiff crust helped keep her out of the snow that was deeper than she is tall!

Just read this Missouri, how touching that is that the cat would respond that way. Animals know more and feel way more than we think they do. Sorry you had to go through that. Bless you for loving that dog so much.

Steve that is pretty neat. Our 10 inches of snow was powdery and not solid at all. The kind you sink right down and struggle with every step. Moki almost caught a squirrel yesterday that was just leaping and sinking over and over until it barely reached a tree in time.
