I had thought that deer with the crazy large racks were found only in the northern part of USA & in Saskatchewan. But this one is a Tennessee deer. Better call him "Elvis".

In the summer it could have been called Velvet Elvis, after the famous paintings.

Scott, I know y'all were in NY, but what's going on with the 3 Florida sized racks between and below those big boys? That's a great lookin' wall! ::tu::

I know...right!

He hunts now for trophies, not the meat. So sad.

Sunday past we had a mission, 6 kids (3 rookies) and 1 adult.

Twas a blast. Taught the kids how to light matches! ::nod:: Dug up a cedar stump and a fatwood stump. Made a fire.
Had to leave after 4 hours because they woulda stayed til the Park Ranger kicked 'em out!!

Last pic is way out of focus but the kids wanted to whittle and make spears.....then I had them appear to be throwing them at me.
They loved it.

Scott, as you know, fostering an outdoor spirit in kids leads to a lifetime of appreciation for being in the wild. I'll be forever grateful to my Dad and my Uncle Fred for making me an outdoorsman - good for you! Speaking of the outdoors, got out this past Monday on a beautiful day; high in the mid 40's, a bit of a breeze, blue sky and plenty of quail. OH

Way to go OH!!!!

In these parts the highest class eating a guy can do is fried quail, gravy, and biscuits. That meal trumps all others. Now I'm hungry!
