My apologies. I forgot you're a dog lover. Because little dogs are usually yappers, I was picturing the little bugger barking his head off and allowed my self control to get away from me. Carry on.

At our bush cabin this past summer a pair of Bald Eagles came gliding in & roosted in a tree along the edge of the (cabin's) clearing. Stayed there for quite a while.
Kept the cat inside for the next couple of days...

This is too much fun!
Here's a couple.

Deer hunting has evolved in my life. I've been at it over 50 years. Now that I'm gettin' a little age on the old body, deer huntin' has slowed considerably . I'm not near as mad at them as I once was .

However, year round, I look forward to Wednesdays, for that is the day I usually check my game cameras. It is so interesting to see what goes on both day and night just a few hundred yards from the house. Last Wednesday there were over 4100 pictures on the camera that is near our biggest food plot, it is focused on an automatic feeder that runs a few seconds at 7am and 4pm. I used to save all the pictures but now I just save a few that show something more interesting than a normal picture of deer at a feeder. During the summer it is fascinating to watch the antlers grow from week to week!

Here's a few pictures from this past week, from Monday morning through Wednesday morning. (Click on the pictures to enlarge.)

Thad, as a southern boy who's never seen seen a pond freeze solid enough to walk on, muxhnless a lake, ice fishing has always interested me. Cool pics.

TF those are some fine pictures. I know you promised Mrs. Joy not to take a doe off the farm, but there are a couple ol girls that if j saw up here would be prime candidates for the freezer!

Those are some very good bird photos, fellows. Treefarmer - I like the deer photos, but to me the coyote, fox, and raccoon are even more interesting. All three are common in my area, but I almost never see a fox or coyote. And my job is an outdoor job! Raccoons do come to my back yard fairly regularly, they look for sunflower seed under the bird feeder and generally poke around.

Ice fishing has always intrigued me, but I am another southerner who has never even walked out on a frozen lake. It would sure be a different experience. Do y'all use decoy fish like I have seen for sale?

That was taken at Little Pond in Litchfield, Ct. The birds slow easy flight made the picture easy to take. It's always important to have a camera with you.

Last weekend I had to visit the old home town to partake in a couple of RIP Life Celebrations.
Of course I hung with my youngest brother....and made a fire!
