I purchased ( from Roger), a few Christmas gifts for myself. The 3 furthest left are Robeson, the 3 to the right are Shapleigh. I will, eventually, post individual pics in the respective threads.

That's a great pair of R/R's there, Jeeper, the copper on those almost makes it a totally different knife. I have a copy of their teenie-tiny "Cub" with emerald green covers, and even that tiny little knife is rock-solid. Yep, I'm a R/R fan!
8)
Wow, somebody loves you, Floyd, what an exceptional knife. I've only had friendly professional interactions when dealing with Gary, he's a sharp businessman yet helpful and accommodating to your needs, in other words, he's a great guy!
8)
It looks like you also have folks who think you're pretty o.k., Dogg, that's one cool trapper your son gave you. I wasn't sure if "pocket worn from my son" meant worn-down or worn-carried, but judging by it's condition I'm goin' with the former!
8)
What a beautiful Buck you have there, CCC, and right outta the series I admire the most. Is yours a 500/501....or? I really like how they have the blade blending nice n' smoothly into the handle at the tang, much better than the clip-point look, IMO. Welcome, man!
And imagine that, Gary/Kennedy Knives involved in yet another pleasant and easy transaction, my goodness!

It's a 500 Marco ... my first in the series. ::tu:: on Gary, very pleased, was easy to do biz with. Many thanks for the Welcome!!

I have been collecting Buck fixed blades, 110s, and the 300 series mostly, as well as Alpha Hunters. I like 'em all! This is my first 500 series ... will have to "get me another one". This is my first purchase from an AAPK member since I joined. Got it from Kennedy Knives. Great experience!

Like to add, I have done some posting since joining, but have not mentioned I am new. I was a lurker ... if that is the right word for about 1 1/2 years. I am glad I joined! Should have done it sooner ... This is a great site to be a member of! Many thanks to all for the info I have gleaned from your posts!
Very nice Buck!! Congratts!! :)
Thanks woodwalker!

Thanks, Woodwalker. I am not particularly well rounded in my knife collecting, while I have an appreciation for all knives, probably 99% of what I own is pre-1950.

That's not the kind of 5 pack that I am familiar with, but is probably more interesting, definitely less perishable.
My choice of the group would.be the Military MAX.

Thanks a bunch, fellas!
It feels good to get compliments about the knives I choose. ::handshake::

I also like the AGR, Kerry, and for the same reason.
Sodbusters have been a favorite of mine for sometime, so whenever I come across anything that looks similar I take a long hard look and if it fits I buy it, money permitting. As much as I like this latest model, if I had to choose between it and an original Case 8 1/2" model I'd go with the Case, but only because it feels so much more substantial in my hand.
8)

I'm with you, Ike, I can think of something else I'd like that comes in a 5-pack, an example being a 6-pack with one already drank, but these knives WILL last longer. lol!
If I had to choose, it would also be the MAX.
It sat on my "Wishlist" at ebay for over a month due to what I felt was it's high price, but every time I looked at it I couldn't get it outta my thoughts, so I sent an offer which was accepted and a month later it's mine.
I really like where it's squared where a Buck is rounded on their knives, it makes it completely different for me.
IMO, the only thing that would further compliment that knife would be about an inch in overall length, but that's me.
8)

With your vote, C-3, it makes 3 of us who would choose the MAX, and although we don't know Ike's exact reasons, at least 2 of us feel that way due to it's similarities with the 500's.
I have stated many times how I like my knives with clean straight profiles, but knives like that MAX have curves that seem just right and in just the right places to make them attractive to me. The sloping blade also reminds me of a Blackjack "Mamba", another favorite of mine.
Please feel free to post any knives that bring you comfort indoors, outdoors, using or just sitting beside you, the more pictures the better!
