Nothing like that pattern in any of dad’s knives. Even if there was I would not know a pattern name.

I don't know the answer to that, Dave. I had never before seen it, so a while back I ran a picture by Keith/espn77 to ask if it was something he had seen on other Remingtons. He stated that it was used, though not common, a name wasn't mentioned.

It looks somewhat like imitation celluloid Myrcardia (I don't know how to spell that but I don't feel bad because spellcheck doesn't either) and I know that knife way outdated Micardia. I spelled it differently this time thinking I might get it right once. I love the pattern even if it makes a little dizzy looking at it.______Dave

Beautiful knife and with the enclosed back to boot. That one and the green ones like that are two of my favorites. We need to stop posting these really great knives because the guys that avoid them because of the celluloid scales might just start collecting them again and there goes the prices. If they knew that I have several hundred old ones and none of them have outgassed in the 25 years I've been collecting them I'd get some competition. The only ones I have had go bad were the more recent German ones and Western's cracked ice. I was buying the Remington re-pops that started gassing for cheap and pulling off the scales and having bone or stag put on them. They were no longer original, but they sure were great knives.____Dave

Hey, all ! new guy here... i started collecting last summer, at the ripe old age of 60... Got caught up in it pretty quickly and thought i'd show off some of my humble collection. I've ended up gravitating toward hardware store contract knives, and also 1920-'40 remingtons. along the way a lot of celluloids caught my eye. here are a few.. top to bottom; original Schatt & Morgan, Pre-1937 Utica, Shapleigh diamond edge

Landers Frary & Clark, Pal cutlery, Cussins & Fearn
