All About Pocket Knives

I have another 5-pack to show you guys today!
An 8 1/4" oal made in Canada unmarked slip-joint with a Damascus blade, fully engraved all stainless body, and minor filework! It's a heavy beast!Next is this 8 1/2" oal unmarked frame-lock with a SS drop-point blade including a front-flipper tab, Titanium body with carbon-fiber inserts, and a pocket-clip! An unusual and ultra-cool knife!And onto this 6 1/2" oal SOG lockback with a spear-point blade with single-stud, and all stainless body! This one is heavy too!And now this 8 3/4" oal United Cutlery UC285 front-lock that displays a modified spear-point blade and single-stud, SS body with black Zytel covers, and single-liner front-lock blade closing system! This is my 3rd knife with the front-lock system, not that I'm overly fond of it, more of simply stating a fact!Taking up the rear is this unmarked 7" oal lockback clone of a more expensive Sakai made knife, that has a SS mostly serrated spear-point blade, NS bolsters and liners, and black cross-cut Zytel covers! Made in Seki, Japan!More to come when I'm feeling ambitious again!

That SEKI made knife is a smaller less expensive version of a Sakai made lockback that I can't remember the name of, I wanna say the "Tomcat", but not really sure.

I have another group if 5 to show today guys, as I get closer to being caught up with my picture posts!
Up first, this 8" oal Boker Magnum frame-lock that has a 440A drop-point blade, cross-cut Titanium body, lanyard hole and a pocket-clip! Nice weight, nice to look at, nice knife!Out of the 2 hole comes this 6 3/4" oal CRKT "Symmetry" non-locking slip-joint, that has a SS drop-point blade equipped with front flipper tab, Titanium body with carbon-fiber inserts, blued screws, lanyard and pocket-clip! This is a very classy gentleman's EDC!Staying with the CRKT theme we have this CRKT Howard Viele designed "Wasp" liner-lock, and it's got an 8002CM Wharncliffe blade that sports a stud with a rubber insert, aluminum body with black/blue Pakkawood covers, and a clip! Another classy knife from CRKT!And to wrap-up the day are these two 8 3/4" oal Muela liner-locks, 1 all SS with a half serrated dagger blade and 1 all brass with a plain edge dagger blade! These 2 are heavy an' SHARP!

It seems all 3 of us are Muela fans, guys, I know for myself, of all the knives I've been posting lately those 2 are favorites.
Due to them being made of solid metals they both have decent weight and feel quite substantial in-hand.
And talk about taking an edge, the day I got the non-serrated model I sliced a ripe tomato as thin as rice paper, and then promptly proceeded to cut my finger!

Slicing tomatoes is convenient as our blood color generally mixes well with the vegetable. (Technically a fruit.)

When I was informed that tomatoes are fruits and not vegetables, Garry, I didn't believe it, what could possibly be more of a veggie than a tomato!?
Next thing ya know we'll be chopping into cool n' refreshing potatoes and calling them watermelons!

This is a 6" oal GEC slip-joint with a sheepsfoot blade, NS hardware, and blued camel bone covers! Stunning when in-hand!Then comes this 7 3/4" oal A.G. Russell 2008 Texas Ranger series lockback featuring a 9Cr18Mov clip-point blade equipped with a dual "bowl" shaped pull to accommodate 1-hand opening, SS hardware, lanyard hole, and black micarta covers with a commemorative brass shield insert. Built for heavy duty work! Two I'm proud to add to my collection!I've included pictures of my presently owned AGR T/R series toothpick for comparison, and there are 3 more in the series I'd love to own eventually! "Baby-Girl" my cat insisted on a closer look!

And Baby-Girl DID approve of the knife, as-a-matter-of-fact, each time I break out my collection for cleaning or playing I place the current pouches on my bed, and just as soon as I put down the 1st pouch does she jump-up and plop herself down right on top of the unopened pouch with a look on her face of "you're gonna have to get past me first!", so naturally I let her help!

I have 1 new acquisition, and 1 already owned of the 2 I'm showing today!
This first knife is an 8 1/2" oal Parker K404 gunstock slip-joint that features a spear-point blade, lovely cream colored stag covers, NS and brass hardware, along with a fine fit and finish.
The second knife is in the last picture on the bottom, and it also is an 8 1/2" oal Parker g/s s/j but this time it's a "Big Lou" model with white camel bone covers and it already had a space in my collection.
Both knives are as I like em', HEAVY, and display easy pulls and softer detents, as well as being made in Japan.
It's out of my norm to buy 2 of the same knife, but I've got a thing for these gunstock/single blade/spear-points, so naturally I made an exception, am happy I did, and likely will again!

Looks like a good pattern to have in multiple quantities, Mark. That stag looks superb!

You know, if the gunstocks were more available with single spear/sheeps/or Wharnie blades, instead of the flood of models with 2 or more blades with the main being a clip-point, I think I'd be in trouble as far as collecting them, but since they're not I figure I'm pretty safe with the few I have.
At least by me being picky I end-up with a knife that I really like and wanted, so I try not to complain! lol!

I didn't make any New Year's resolutions to slow down on my knife purchases, John, so I'm fortunate to not suffer any guilt when I do buy something. I never start the month thinking "no knife buying", I just carry-on daily and if I spot a model I like I go ahead and buy it, providing I have the necessary funds, so what it was like from April to May is a mystery to me, unless I sit down and do some figuring, but if you say I had a good month that's good enough for me!
I don't think I'll have time today, but keep watching over the next few days so you can view 3 gorgeous models I'll post that came today. If those 3 are any indication of what May will be like, then I can certainly look forward to more "sweet" knives!
