MB, I must have the deluxe set, it has 2 handles.One with a spear blade and the other with a punch.

Roger, same set as mine except my handle with the spear blade was missing when I bought it

A common occurrence with these sets, the spear blade frame could be carried in the pocket and was a more useful tool than the punch blade frame

Absolutely! I bought this set and a Napanoch set at the last Tulsa show from Stockman/Harold.

Here's a little ephemera for you, an original NYK patent, dated 1931, for a pocket clip incorporated into the knife construction! Of course the clip was a bit smaller back in those days. I've never actually seen a NYK knife with this feature, but I'm sure there's at least one out there:

Just came across this post. Just out of curiosity are they stamped Hammer Brand New York Knife Co. or just Hammer Brand? The reason I ask is the attachment hooks for the tools look like the later style ones used when Imperial took over the Hammer Brand stamp.
I know a lot of the German tool kits will have two handles in them and sometimes they will not have any permanent blades in them and the tools can be inserted two ways:parallel and perpendicular to the handle(mostly for corkscrews and awls).

Here's some I have posted in in other threads, but are most appropriate to show here...

Today we had a garage sale,cleaned out the garage and shed, went through the kids old toys and all that STUFF that a family accumulates.I put a few cheap used knives in a display case,Colonial,Utica Sportsman and some other $5 dollar knives.Also put a sign that says Knives Wanted.I had a few old guys looking and one asked what kind of knives I was looking for? I said Napanoch and New York Knife Co.The guy says he thinks he has a payroll ledger book for New York Knife Co in his truck.What? Who carries stuff like this around in there truck..He walks to his truck and brings back a large ledger book.It is a little rough ,but I open it and at the top it says New York Knife Co payroll starting July 4th 1908 and runs through July 5th 1909.At the top of almost every page is a payout to Ford? I will be going through the book to see how many employees are on the payroll. What are the chances a guy walks up to your garage sale and has something from the Knife Co you collect.You never know!

You won the New York Knife Co. lottery. Absolutely amazing. At least history fell into the lap of someone who will appreciate and preserve it.

Picked up this pretty nice NYK easy open this week.
