Thanks! It’s smooth gray bone.

Looks similar - nevertheless, a great looking handle! ::tu::

Theo, Kim and Iman - some good looking knives! Love those old “B” westerns!

New Kershaw AL Mar, excellent lock up, easy one finger open, sweet movement. A well done knife.
Nice, Iman. I love Kershaw knives. I have one in my pocket all the time. Those you have are great.

This Moore Maker Sodbuster, 4.5 inch lockback arrived in Friday's mail, but I just opened it today. The Traildust Composit scales look great and the knife is wicked sharp. I really like the picking on the nail notch. Overall, I am very please with this knife. The included sheath is just OK and is not nearly as exceptional as the sheath that came with the Moore Maker double locking knife I bought 5-6 months ago.

I plan to braid a lanyard through the lanyard hole and maybe end it with a bead or maybe a 9 mm casing.

I like the Moore Maker shipping envelope...they are hand addressed... somehow, I find that a nice touch and one that is appreciated...I know I'm dealing with real people!

I'm seeing a third Moore Maker in my near future!

Good looking knife. Great color on the scales. Do you know who made it? Did Moore Maker have them made in other companies factories or did they do it themselves? Good looking score either way. Just wondered who the manufacturer was. Thanks.

A somewhat offbeat addition to my collection arrived today. This little multi-tool is a downsized clone of a Leatherman Juice. I will be putting it through its paces in due time, but it was the logo that really spoke to me. Thanks to Kimzilla for sending it my way! ::handshake::

I believe Moore Maker contracts out 100% of their knives, owning only the patterns. Recently, they released some older, but new, Moore Maker branded knives made by Queen. Those carried a significant premium on price.

I will need to sleuth out the maker of the Sodbuster.

I'm not familiar with Moore Maker, but I will look it up for sure.

A personal touch is always nice. I also appreciate the handwritten envelopes and the occasional handwritten "thank you" on an invoice :)

I think the best personal touch that I've ever received was a handkerchief that was tightly and neatly wrapped around a knife like an old school way of gift wrapping, even though the knife had a case. I keep that handkerchief out every day and I use it as a background for most of the pictures that I post on here.
The handkerchief was a really nice touch. That level of care is the sign of an exceptional business.

Anza knives is a company that gives me similar confidence. I ordered an Anza knife for my son for his birthday but was worried it would not be ready in time. I called Anza and spoke with Chana, Charlie Davis' daughter. I explained the situation to Chana and she said hang on. I then heard Chana shout out, "Dad, is that 'Dune Field' with black micarta going to be ready soon?". Chana came back on the line and said "Yes, it will be shipped shortly and be to you in plenty of time."

That sealed the deal for me. I've bought several Anza knives since and got to meet Chana and several of the makers when I visited the store in El Cajon. Nice, down to earth people.

Jeepergeo, yours is the first reference to Anza knives I have encountered. I sometimes wondered how they were doing. Glad to hear about your favorable experience with them.

Montana, which seems about as close to an ideal location as I'm apt to find. Also being from a utility, as I trained to get into that field.

Case vs. Imperial. I was interested in the Schrade SP3 but never pulled the trigger. The imperial version (made in China) caught my eye for less than $10 but again I hesitated. I recently bought the Case. The USPS sent it on a long and winding road, so in the meantime I grabbed the Imperial. A few observations. The Case is DuPont registered Zytel while the Imperial is “plastic.” They both measure 3 3/4” closed. From the photos there are some obvious differences. First off, the blade shape. The Case has the clip but a version I’m not familiar with while the Imperial has what I would call a slim leaf. The blade stock on the Case is thicker. Overall, the Case is thinner and feels less substantial but both appear to weigh the same. I’ve carried the Imperial satisfactorily the last few days and now its the Case’s turn. Now for the photos.

Tim said it. I like the looks of both. I might actually prefer the blade on the Imperial.

That's a nice pair, Joe.
I'm gonna take flack for this, but I much prefer the Imperial to the Case. The body shape, the spear-point blade as opposed to the clip, much prefer!

I picked up 3 this week (so far!)
If I can be said to collect (which is debatable - I normally just accumulate), then I collect Boy Scout knives and the Sharp brand knives that K-Mart used to sell.

Well, this is an Imperial Girl Scout knife, so I don't know why I got it except that I don't see these as often.

Then a Sharp Camper with a broken corkscrew. The assortment of blades and tools on these clones are far less useful than a real Swiss Army Knife. Honestly it is the last knife that I would want to depend upon if camping, but it was an example that I did not have.

Then a nice Sharp 325 small Stockman. At 3.25" it is a bit too small for my hands, but it fits the collection.

Didn't arrive in the mail, but here are a few pick-ups I traded for at the Lexington knife show today.

I love the beautiful stag on the Tuna Valley and Titusville. The handle materials on the Excelsiors wouldn't have been my first choice, but they were the only Excelsior's available, and I probably couldn't have afforded them in stag or pearl. My goal today was to walk out with my first Tuna Valley & Excelsior. Never thought I would end up with 4 of these awesome knives plus a Titusville & Northfield.
