Thanks, Dan.
It came from Armenia, that's not to say it was made there though.
What is it about the knife that causes your doubt?

From the shallow end of the bay all the way from Armenia.
Unmarked, unknown maker 8 1/2" oal top-lock with a SS modified Wharncliffe blade with dual-studs, SS hardware, and creamy stag covers.
Nice n' heavy!
Pretty cool if you ask me, but that's only if you ask me, mind you!

!
Do you remember that phrase comes from the movie "RUSH" with Jason Patric, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Gregg Allman about the 2 undercover narcs trying to bust Gregg Allman?
It's from the scene where they're buying dope from the black dude and he insists JJLeigh shoot-up or he won't let them leave alive, and JPatric says, "Walker said you're cool, man, what's this about?", to which he replied "Walker cool as the other side of my pillow, but...", etc.
Good movie, GREAT soundtrack!

Maybe that post was poorly worded. With no markings, we can't say for sure where it was made. But I have little to no reason to doubt it was made in Armenia.
Knice pick-ups, David and Mark!

Opened this package yesterday.
My "collecting" has mainly turned into picking up strange, unusual, or unique knives. I care less about the brand than just getting "one of every pattern" - at least, patterns that appeal to me.
So I fished out of the 'Bay this Camillus 121 Pipe Smokers knife. I am going to attempt profiling the blade and patching the handle.
It has had a rough life, but I still think that it is a little cutie!

Cool seeing unique ones like that Reverend. Never seen one like that. Very interesting score. Any idea the age?

Thanks Iman, I hadn't studied the tang stamp closely, or even done much research on the knife. So I got my better phone and macro lens. It looks like a "short line" Camillus tang stamp, 1946 to 1950. Though I do not see it in any of the old Camillus catalogs from that time period.
http://www.collectors-of-camillus.us/Ca ... talogs.htm

- Tang stamp

- Pattern number
The butt end (made for tamping down the pipe tobacco) is in great shape, and the knife has the slightest smell of smoke to it, so it seems that it was used properly, but years ago.

- Tamping butt end
I have found images online of much better examples. Evidently it originally had a drawing of a smoking pipe engraved into the wood on one side, but as you can see from the closeups that on mine the wood is cracked and deeply scratched, and if mine ever had that engraving it is long gone now.
Still, I didn't get it to have a museum piece, but a conversational piece. And I like it!

Thanks for showing the stamp and the info. I would have guessed it was older. Cool piece.

Thanks a lot Marco, tvic, dlr110, appreciate the feedback. I like the striped wood grain big time and the lighter colored wood in between. And if the GEC 14 and 15 are boys knives, then this is a mans knife. Bit bigger and I love the blade way more than my shorter spears. They are very good, these are better IMHO. Thanks again for the comments gents.
