Hard to beat a yellow Delrin 18. Wanted a Case Changer XX for a longtime; finally found a deal on one at a Pawn & Gun this past week. Cleaned it up, sharpened the Clip, and took some better pictures. From 1986 and 1985. OH

Dogg, I've had all four blades in the handle now. All seat well, they each align with the spring a bit differently, but lock up and closing is tight and aligned with the blade well on all of them. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase. OH

Welcome to the AAPK club. Nice score too, congrats. Good to see some new blood. Would love to see some of those old Case knives you been carrying for 40 plus years. I'm drooling already. Keep 'em coming.

I wish I still owned my knives from 40 years ago but I was just a young kid that either traded or lost my pocket knives back then. Always had one in my pocket since elementary school, including at school.
Now my oldest case is a 1982 stockman that my dad gave me in high school and the next oldest is a 1993 stockman.

Welcome TW200, that trapper on the far left of the photo sure has fancy bolsters. All are eye catchers.

Picked up this Texas Jack 62032 CV yesterday at Cabela's, Hamburg, PA. Nice to be able to hand pick the knife you want.

Joefm:
The stamp on the Case sheath knife was one used in the time frame you mention. In the latest Sargent's book, Brad Wood wrote (edited?) the fixed Case blade section has a stamp chart without timeframes. He indicated no one knew for sure what was used when. The fixed blades don't track with the folders until 1980.
That is a great days work by the way, those are some good knives.
Welcome to AAPK!

Well Jerry, some mistakes turn out good. Love the wharnie and great looking knife.

jerryd--you're not the first and/or only one to make that mistake. At one time I almost considered starting a collection of full size wharncliffe (54W) trappers just because I kept seeing so many cool ones that weren't offered in the mini (07W) version. But, in the end, I decided that I had to draw the line somewhere. But, if the one you got was a mistake...all I can say is--I wish I made more mistakes that turned out as well as yours did. Beautiful knife. And you know me...I love a wharncliffe no matter what knife it's on. Although I know green's not necessarily your preferred color of choice, personally, I'm a big fan of the red enameled shield on any Case knife, regardless of handle material or color.

Thanks fellers. I went looking for the one I thought it was and found it (I hope) on KnifeWorks. It's in Hunter Green Barn Board and showed the Wharncliffe secondary blade but in the description it said Spey Blade, so I called them. She assured me it's Wharncliffe but I'm still nervous and will be until next week when it gets here.
Last June I bought one off eBay that was the same year (2015), in Hunter Green Barn Board, that showed a Wharncliffe blade but when it got here it had a spey blade. I sent that one back but if this one turns out to be a spey blade, I give up and will just keep it.
I have pictures so at least I know the knife exists.
