Got this one a while back. Can I assume this one came out of the Camillus factory?
Probably not. JMO
Agree also JMO. Would be a Utica 72 clone ?
Any case it’s a beauty

Evening all, got a couple of 72s in today . The New in wrapper ,from Knifeaholic came in 4 to 5 days ,great Service. Had decided when buying it from Steve that was going to play with it a little , so cleaned it up ,put some Filtz on it and will give it a drop or two of good oil . Will put it away for awhile.
Also received my EDC 72 . This one is tight ,lightly used and will feel right at home in the pocket . Bought from this seller for the first time, and may do more . Happy hunting out there . Stay safe .

Nice Buddy!

Two 72's in one day. That is a double score!!

Very nice EDC 72 there.
Yes, Steve shipped quick. Mine came in today also. The only thing I've done is wiped it down with a Case leather chammy, and oil the joints. But I do plan on doing some Flitz on the bolsters & blades as they do have some oil stains from sitting especially near the joints. After looking closely at the handles through a 60X lighted jewlers scope, I do believe these handles are black composite and not delrin. Here is mine. Very pleased with it.
Very nice Smiitty!

Thanks to you guys (I think), I found something else to look for in the places I frequent. This came home with me last weekend. Only $18 which seemed like a bargain to me.
Seems pretty sweet but man does it need some time on the sharpening stone. Tomorrow is Saturday so maybe then.

That is a VERY nice example of a CAMILLUS 72.
What's the tang stamp look like?

It has the long line under CAMILLUS. I think 60’s or 70’s. Handles are delrin.

Skip, it’s like the top stamp you showed. The word CAMILLUS is all caps, not in italics and fully underlined.
The shield looks like it has slight remnants of being stamped with the crossed swords.
Thanks!

Thanks for the compliments guys. I felt fortunate to find one for this price. It’s nice and tight and obviously hasn’t seen much if any abuse.
What’s not to like about these 72’s. Now, where is that next one hiding?

I am proud to post, That I have added another Camillus 72 to the Family. I received this one yesterday. Fished it out of the Bay near the first of the month for $15.00. As you will see at the end of the post, I had to do a little cleaning. But is a very nice filler now and a great EDC until a better one comes along.
It is a Camillus 72 Short Line Tang Stamp with black handles without the shield. It was dirty, with some rust, and damage to the tip of the master clip blade. The front bolster had something that was like an epoxy paint on it which was tough as the dickens to get off. I soaked it in warm mineral oil overnight, then did the usual cleaning inside and out, exercised the blades with Tuff Glide, then another wash / flush with wd-40, and finished cleaning. Re-profiled the master clip blade, and sharpened. Oiled all the joints, and polished the bolsters and blades with Case Paste. All blades now have good snap both on opening and closing. The handles are clean now, but do have some scratches on them. The blades have some shine, but do have scratches from use. i am stoked that I was able to find a Short Line 72. I will post the finished pictures first and will post the before photos last.
