What did you use on those blades??
I used 400 grit sandpaper to get the worst. Then worked my way up to 1500 grit...next I polished with simichrome. ::nod::
Triple 0 steel wool works pretty good also. :)

Well put some time into the TL-29 this is what I have so far gut to get finer paper did this with scotch fine ::shrug::elbow grease and an overnite bath in WD-40.

Dang, garddog, I would say you've a majority of the gunk out of there. Now be very careful at this point not to destroy the antique patina of the knife. You want it to have some. ::nod::

Well, I at least got it to where I don't buy any more electrician's knives unless it is a tang stamp I don't already have. On the other hand I keep finding ones I don't have. So far this month I have found a Craftsman, a Boker and an Imperial. I really can't think of many more I would likely find, except a Case, a Ric-Nor and a Colonial.

Here's the Imperial. I'm pleasantly surprised at the fit and finish of this knife - good looking delrin handles, finished backsprings, solid snap on both blades and a clean tang stamp.
