Skip approached me recently looking to trade a couple of knives. I agreed, and today our postal worker dropped off these two used but nice Sharp brand Japanese knives.
Even though they were mass produced for a low-end market, these two have the typical quality that you expect from Japanese manufacturers.
I have learned that I can use a file to alter a Schrade oblong shield just a little bit to make it fit these. I plan to do that soon, and add these to my collection.
Thanks, Skip!

Hey Reverend,I have a stockman like the darker colored one you can have it if you want it. You might like it better than me , no charge. It is in really good shape , still snaps looks like someone got alittle over zealous with sharpening. Cleaned it up best I could.
Let me know , Theo

Great knives Theo!

I had no idea Cabellas sold nice knives like yours, I always thought they only sold the real low-end models. Your new Dr.'s knife is gorgeous too, I especially like the double shields, sooo cool! I recently got a couple of knives from Matt Sanders, and it could have easily been a dozen, he does have some great knive n stock!
I hear you Marco, I was wanting something, I was looking at some 9mm handgun online didn’t see anything that thrilled me, so I went to the knives, boom snag it. That’s about it, yes Matt Sanders has some cool stuff. Shoot next time I am going to drive there about 35 minutes I believe after I get thru town. And I love the doctor’s knife, always had a soft spot for them. Be safe my friend.
Oh I will post or reply if somebody drops an egg in here, trying to get to 100 posts so I get get in on these knife give away.

Here's one I got a while ago but for some reason never posted. It's a Trestle Pine "Superior" Copperhead with a big old 'fat' CPM154 Wharncliffe blade, stag covers and brass bolsters. Not quite GEC quality perhaps, but Made in the USA!

And here's one I just picked up recently:
A. Wright & Son LTD., Sheffield, England, 3½" (closed) single Wharncliffe Jack with stag covers and fancy "Vine" file-worked back spring.

Those are 2 beautiful knives ~Q~! The "Superior" looks as good as any GEC to me, and did you get the "Senator" from "James and Company" like I did?

I really like mine!

No, I found mine on eBay. The James & Company Senator looks like it probably has nicer Stag than mine, but it also has a Lambfoot blade; and, as I'm sure you know, I prefer a Wharncliffe.
I did get my K'roo Pepper Tree Root Burl Barlow from AAPK store "James & Company," though...and I absolutely LOVE this knife!!!

Thaaat's it,

the blades are different!
As I was typing my post something was bugging me about my comparison of yours and my copies, and as it turns out it was the 2 different blades. There's such a subtle difference between Wharncliffe and Lambfoot blades that my mind's-eye didn't pick-up on it so I thought they were identical knives. They're both beautiful little knives regardless of blade grind though!
Your K'roo Barlow is an equally gorgeous knife buddy!

I like the Barlows too and had my eye on a couple Appaloosa bone Barlows but the bidding went beyond what I wanted to pay about 30 minutes before it ended.
