Smitty,
That’s a new one on me. Very nice! G.Schrade knives are very interesting.

Nice one! I have not seen that pattern before. Looks like a baby version of the "Hunting and Fishing Knife" frame.Papa Bones wrote: ↑Thu May 12, 2022 10:13 pm Added another addition to my Steelies and G.Schrade family, A Stainless Steel hawk bill pruning knife. It is 3-1/8" closed not including the eyelet. The tang stamp is G.SCHRADE KNIFE CO. INC over B'PORT.CT.USA over STAINLESS. The blade has an etch with SUPERTEX RIBBON CO. over DON O'CONNEL. The body of the frame is stamped in script with "Say It With Flowers"underlined over STAINLESS STEEL. I'm figuring it was a promotional give-a-way knife. The knife is like new, great snap, doesn't appear to have been re-sharpend, and just has a few spots on the blade. The blade is high polished and the body is a brushed finish. Not sure of the age of this one. The only thing I could find on Supertex Ribbon Co. was in New York City & was established in 1955, then around 1971 was re-established as SuperTex Textiles Inc. which was dissolved in 1993. Here are some pictures, all this knife needed was to oil the joints.

I have a Craftsman that had a broken tip, so I turned it into a Wharncliff. It's a wonderful "user" too!tongueriver wrote: ↑Sat May 14, 2022 2:47 am A great carrying knife. Some had sabre-ground masters and some didn't. They made them for Craftsman, too.
toomanyknives wrote: ↑Sat May 14, 2022 2:36 am Nice little Flea market score today. A Schrade Walden 804 Whittler. Just like I like them. Used but not abused. Delrin is in really good shape, blades have a lot of life left in them, and it's not too pretty to carry! Price was right too. Patina on the blades, but not rusty. I'll take all like this I can get. Cleaned it a bit, a little oil, and right into my pocket it went!
Both are good looking knives. Good job on the Craftsman.toomanyknives wrote: ↑Sat May 14, 2022 3:17 am

Yes, the hunters with and without holes are all over the place. Schrade was not too fussy in these matters. The ones without holes sometimes have holes in the liners anyway.kootenay joe wrote: ↑Mon May 16, 2022 11:40 pm There is the "225" and the "225H". Supposedly the "H" refers to the lanyard hole in the rear bolster but i have seen 225H without the hole.

Papa Bones wrote: ↑Tue Apr 19, 2022 5:01 am I purchased these from our friend Cal aka:tongueriver. I had been wanting a Schrade 163 Rope knife, and wound up getting two. The first a Schrade Walden N.Y. U.S.A. with the model number stamped on the pile side of the blade. The second is a Schrade Walden N.Y. U.S.A. with model number on the mark side. It has the serrated blade and bale on the handle.
Thanks! Good to knowtongueriver wrote: ↑Mon May 16, 2022 11:17 pm 1960/62 (when they adopted Delrin as covers) to the summer of 1973 (when they changed tang stamps).
