Ordered this for my Grandson-in-law for Christmas because he's an auto mechanic.

Ordered these for me because......... I wanted them. Both are on back order

Maybe I'll get them before Christmas and they will be a Christmas present for me..

The Air Force fills out the Military set (there's no Coast Guard edition yet). Thinking about getting one for my niece and the cigar band is because I like 'em a lot.

Good looking knives.

I got word this one is on it's way to me. I'm stoked and feel very lucky to have found it. A new addition for my Camillus 72 Clone Family. A McGrew Arkansas U.S.A. 3-1/2" Swell Center Whittler. The owner said it's like new with the original box. Just going by his photos it seems to have little wear and the blade etch is still prominent. I will post more photos in the Camillus 72 CLone Thread when it arrives.

McGrews seem to be a little bit uncommon, along with Mt. Ida. Great score!
I agree Cody. I was really shocked to find this one. I figured Skip had gotten most of them.

I will really be happy when it arrives and I can Chicken eye it.

They are all nice in the hand. They are called " Bunny Knives " as a generic term. When rabbits were in plague proportions over here, a lot of people shot and trapped rabbits. With our then still very strong connections to England, they were our main trading partner and a lot of our products came from England, especially tools and such. Joseph Rodgers were one of our main suppliers of cutlery, even knives and forks for the kitchen and dining rooms. All of my family had Joseph Rodgers cutlery sets. These particular knives were easily available and with the Clip Point blade were easy to carry and perfect for skinning rabbits. So the name just morphed into " Bunny Knife". But any single blade barlow with a clip point can be classed as a Bunny Knife. My interest in knives started when i was gifted my first Joseph Rodgers Bunny Knife when i was a kid being taught to hunt rabbits with a .22 single shot rifle. That is 50 years ago and i have retained my liking of knives since, i just like a sharp pocket knife in my pocket. As an aside, when i joined here, i needed a name, and where i learnt to hunt and gun and knife safety was at a family friends farm. This family friend gifted me my first knife, a Joseph Rodgers Bunny Knife from De Grandi's sports store in Warrnambool where all my family came from. But his farm was at a little place about 10 miles out of Warrnambool at a place called CUDGEE, so i thought that was a good user name to settle on. That was 50 years ago, and i remember it like it was yesterday, hope i have not bored you. You have a good weekend.
PS- De Grandi's sports store was a family run mom and pop store that only closed about 5 years ago.

Imperial Ireland AP6 Bladesaw. For some reason, this seems to be one of the harder-to-find Irish-made Imperials there is. The knife blade and saw both lock, released by the red buttons. I don't know how secure of a mechanism this is. It is 4 1/4" closed, which makes it just right for a lightweight woods walk carry, while being long enough to give the saw some decent length for cutting through branches. It's a pull-cut design, which in my opinion, is a bit more effective design on wood, which is all I cut with the saw on a knife. And I can prove it. I have a Victorinox "Ranger" knife from the late '50s, and the pull-cut saw on it will outcut a brand new Huntsman.
Now to find one of the hoofpick knives from Purina with the "scrimshaw" horse scene that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. The only one on eBay right now is $60! Most are less than $10 with other ads and handle colors; so obviously this is overpriced, since almost no one collects Irish Imperials.

With the recent release of the Air Force edition, all four branches are now available. There's a bunch of Army branded knives at Shepherd Hills. In fact the Army Mini-Trapper is currently on sale Just enter "Army" in the search box (top right corner) ---►

Using a bit of my birthday money, I finally got around to ordering those Italian Navy Knives, a year after I'd bookmarked the website. I'm still set on getting a WWII dated British Army pattern, but these will be the ones I will be carrying and using.
A pair was $28 with shipping, or about $14 each.

This was just marked as shipped this morning. All things being equal, it should arrive sometime this week.

All joking aside --congratulations,

I received notification that this was in the mail. A rare Camillus Three Blade Stockman.

O.K. that's the way it was listed, but we all know it's a Camillus 72 pattern Whittler. Appears to have very little use. It is a late Camillus with the double line tang stamp with the double line Camillus stamped shield. I had saved this in my saved auction list, but I have to thank Floyd aka:doggleg for looking out for me. He had sent me a message advising me about it. Looking forward to getting it for inspection. Another addition to my Camillus 72 family.

That one is black bone, correct? I really need something nicer than the red/brown Delrin on my 1047. May just get it rehandled.

That is what I've been told. Will put it under the scope when I get it to make sure. I will post more info on it in the Camillus 72 thread when I get it.
