The Hibiscus are doing well locally too.
Great looking Hibiscus John! ::tu:: For some strange reason, ::hmm:: they remind me of FL. ::shrug::

I am at a lakeside home (rented) on Lake Talquin, outside Tallahassee.

This fir tree is growing on the bank and not at a developed area, so I assume it’s native. I saw it while out fishing this morning.

It reminds me of trees one sees in photos and art from Japan.

Anyone have any idea what this might be?

Can’t tell from the picture but the color and proximity to the water caused my to think Cypress. It could be a Bald Cypress or a Pond Cypress. ::shrug::

It’s not cypress. It is a form of pine.

Ever seen where toads live? ::shrug::

I did yesterday evening. This one lives about 1/2 way up my outside stairs in the potting soil of a tomato plant. ::nod:: We've had toads around here for about 10 years now. Normally two or three of them. This spring one of them got ran over by a car & I have only seen this one around here this year.

I thought this one might need some water for it's skin. ::shrug:: When I poured a little on it, it jumped out of it's hole like ::woot:: "Are you CRAZY!?!? ::dang:: That's cold!!!" :x ::huff::

Here are a few bad pictures of it. ::tu::

Can anyone ID this?

It isn’t honeysuckle.

Has a very faint, non-offensive floral scent.

Looks like it could function as ground cover.

Walking through the Aldi Supermarkt today I ran across some plants for €1.19 a piece. I took these two what I would call succulents ::shrug:: and planted them when I got home. Added a couple of stones and put a couple of pine cones from our last woods walk with the dogs in front of it. Here are a couple of pictures. ::tu::

Very nice, Tomas, a good looking creation for a small investment. The only thing is........I can't find the hidden knife in the photo ::shrug:: , surely you put one in there somewhere!

In regards to Aldi, here in the States, they stock Deutsche Kuche brand Knackwurst, and I have been stuck on them recently. Love those things off the grill, they also make a pretty decent fat hot dog. Is that a brand with which you are familiar?

Opps! Forgot the knife. ::facepalm::

Well they do have a few different brands of Knackwurst there. My wife can't recall reading that exact brand name though. However, Aldi in owned by two brothers. Two of the richest men in Germany. And Aldi is divided into two groups. Aldi North & Aldi South. One brother runs the northern stores, the other one runs the southern stores. So brands can & do vary between them. ::nod:: ::tu:: It could also just be a marketing name somebody came up with for the US stores. ::shrug::
