Unless you don't do eBay, here's the one I bought only I didn't pay that much. It must have been on sale.

Well, there you go Q! The road to ruin is clearly in view!

I actually bought it from Digital_Freaks, that very same listing.

Thanks for the link...don't know why that one never showed up in any of my eBay searches since I used all the key search terms in the listing title. (Perhaps the Universe is trying to protect me from myself, after all, I did say that price was no object...and apparently it is...and resistance is futile...but apparently it's not.)
Soooo...only $430 (down from $507)...Hmmmm...From where I stand that's not just the beginning of the road to ruin, that's more like a kamikaze blaze of glory suicidal flying leap into the bottomless pit of no return. That's even more than I paid for my TB Lock Back Wharncliffe Whittler, and it's a much more complicated design. I would expect a TB Wharncliffe Mini Trapper to be at least $100 less. Might be awhile before I find one for a reasonable price that I can actually afford.
I can only suppose that when your ship came in, jerryd, it must've had a cargo of gold bullion stashed inside. Now that you're a wealthy man, please don't forget about us 'little guys' scrimping and saving every farthing in order to feed our Mini T addiction.

~Q~ that "ship" was actually a rowboat.

Kind of like being at the bus depot when your ship comes in.

Hey man, a boat's a boat long as it floats, and a wink's as good as a nod to a blind man (or so I am told).
Anyway, I sent a plea to digital_freaks begging for a rock bottom price discount on the TB Wharncliffe Mini T for a long-time, frequent repeat customer. They were very kind to respond and generously offered a whopping additional ten dollars off the already reduced price (essentially the cost of shipping). They made it sound as if they were really doing a special favor just for me. Interestingly, I found another seller that has the same knife but with Ebony handle listed for $380 or best offer. I wonder what his absolute rock bottom price would be? Guess I'll never know, though, because I don't want the Ebony...I want the Antique Bone.

Hey Q - I know you're a single blade wharnie guy - check this deal out on a swayback jack:
http://www.casexx.com/Details/?ProductC ... &Patid=190
Its almost too good a deal to pass up (annoying part is that it's 1 penny short of getting free shipping) ... just not sure if I would like the kirinite - would probably grow on me ...

I'm not a big fan of synthetic handles in general; but, no question $48.99 is a smokin' good deal for a Case Swayback Gent (the Gent has one blade, the Jack has two). And, I must admit, that Blue Kirinite does have a rather attractive gem-like sparkle. I know jerryd has some in his collection that he's 'peacocked' around a bit, so I'm pretty sure he likes it.
Not to go too far off the mini trapper rails here...but did you happen to see this one? It's the closest thing I've seen in a production knife to your signature Ratcliffe (it recently sold on eBay for $127.14). Personally, I prefer the sexy curves of the customized Case Ratcliffe that you gave me. But this Northwoods Mini Moose has an actual wharncliffe blade instead of a modified "sheepcliffe" like is on most Hawbaker-style Muskrats.

Wow, Q that mini moose is awesome. Not a moose fan usually but with that Wharncliffe , just wow.

That's a mighty tempting "Special Offer". My problem is I'm more attracted to 'Jacks' than I am to 'Gents'. The conflict rages inside. Does the Blue Sparkle Kirinite have enough appeal to tip the scales over to the single blade? There's also a Crimson Barn Board jack that's singing a siren song.
~Q~ is this enough "Peacock" to suit your fancy?

My fancy is very easily suited, I'm afraid...I enjoy looking at anything and everything knife related...so, please feel free to let your peacock flag fly freely.

I don't. I do have a few but generally am not fond of single blade knives, even if it is a Wharncliffe. Doesn't mean I never buy single blades but........

Just noticed it on one of favourite hardware posts. Hadn't seen one like it before.

If it's a Single Wharncliffe Blade Mini Trapper, I probably have one....and, yup, I do...right here:
Gotta admit, I'm definitely NOT a big fan of the worked bolsters, though...it looks overdone and too "cheap-glitzy" for my taste.

Q - not an 07, but I finally tried a teardrop single blade wharnie ... it's actually nicer than I thought it would be - has same half stop as the 07, really good fit and finish & has a much thinner feel than a single blade 07 ... I don't prefer it to the 07, but I do like the Kirinite better than I thought - it has a nice smooth texture...

Not bad, John...in photos the Teardrop looks more similar (in size) to a Mini T than I remember. I used to have a couple Teardrops but I ended up selling them because they just didn't feel as "substantial" or "sturdy" in my hand as an 07...something about the frame shape, or the "much thinner feel than a single blade 07" as you pointed out. I know it's a very popular pattern, though...a lot of people have told me how much they like it...I do like the almost-New-Grind look of the Tony Bose designed blade....wish more 07s came with New Grind blades.
This is my only New Grind Mini T.

The USPS delivered this Case 1993 Mini Trapper 6207 SS Appaloosa Bone today. It was a bit scroungy when I got it but a dab of Mother's and a little RenWax cleaned it right up. It's now good enough to take to the ball. Sellers pictures were very poor (IMO) and I'm thinking that's why I got it for what I consider a bargain basement price for an Appaloosa edition. (he also didn't mention the handles are Appaloosa)

SWEET Appy Bone Mini T, jerryd...love seeing the "A" in the pattern number tang stamp. Bone coloration looks like natural forest camo...Beauty, indeed!

Thanks ~Q~. The mark side is not as green as it looks in the picture. It's more like the pile side.
