Anyone heard of Bill Kuhen?
This is a really cool hunter pattern I picked up a few years ago. I can't out find much information on the maker, other than he is or was from Sylmar Ca.

Tucker Knife

LC, I had three of Gary Tuckers knives, and they were all really nice. I had one of the huge hunters like yours. One of the first shows I went to a guy came around three times and would pick it up, look at it and then put it back in the manzinita root stand. The last time he came buy, he pulled out his check book and bought it. Did you get one of those root display stands with your knife?

Here are a couple more Lile knives. The top one is a Model 3 hunter, the second one is a regular model 7.
Notice the hand engraved "Made by James B. Lile" on the lower knife. His wife Marilyn hand engraved his early knives before they got the tang stamps.
Jimmy was one of the great early bladesmiths. He chose his "hobby" over a career as a teacher, and construction engineer, to peruse his love of knife making.
He not only made knives for hunters and sportsman, “The Arkansas Knifesmith" made knives for Presidents, Royalty, and many in the entertainment field. If not for James Lile, Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) may have used a Buck knife for his films.

My latest stag. Stockman by Northwoods. Let me tell you, they have the best stag out on a factory knife.

Thanks Johnnie
I have to agree Tank, Northwoods has some of the best! I've heard it's thirty year old stag. If so, maybe it's cause of the cleaner air and water in those days.................lol
Nice Stockman there!

Probably my favorite Stag in the house is a CASE TH62165. Then a 5233 followed by the 06 CCC reg member Raz. Ruger small Coke deserves mention. Have a few more, but this is pick of the litter imho.
Hope you enjoy the pics.
de Man did ask to see some Stag, right?

Those are nice J. Wales!
I'm not normally a Buck man, but when I saw this Chipflint.
Along with the very unique blade they used some really nice stag on this run of knives. Is 1000 considered a low run? lol..................

After seeing GECTECHMAN's GEC Prototype thread, my new focus is on stag quality and I was wondering how to judge top quality stag from poor quality, and how to rate stag quality.
Can we use Tank's Northwoods above as the standard?
This one is MY top stag.(Bulldog)
Notice the long, straight groove along the top edge. Is that good?
