Picked this one up a couple weeks ago.

The line you are asking about is indeed there. I did not actually notice it until I looked at the photo. Under magnification it is very thin (can barely catch a fingernail in it) and very straight across and smooth. Can't tell when, why or how it was put there?

Thanks guys, Dan,it's a small one 3". Jerry, found it at a small flea market a couple weeks ago, it was in among a bunch of other old pocket knives. There were a lot of old rare ones in the bunch but all the others were in pretty poor condition.

Not old but new to me

Picked this old bare end jack up today, I think this one is pretty old. It reminds me a lot of Lyle's GEC boys knife.

Great old Keen Kutter knife John ... and I agree that the resemblance to the Lick Creek Boys Knife is almost spot on the money - both sporting that long pull on master as well... bone looks to be same size in length and width !!!

Nice Schrade made Keen Kutter, charleeDA. Very nice old bone bareheaded jack, John. Great bone and nearly full blades!
Just got this hawkbill pruner in the mail today. Galvanic1882 was kind enough to sell it to me. Etched pattern number is still visible on the pile side of the blade (K135). According to the book has cocobolo handles and was made between 1905 and 1920.

Great old Keen Kutters shown and a really nice etch on that pruner!

I just rounded up this group, along with a couple can openers. Haven't had a chance to wipe them off yet, fresh from the auction house.

I would say it's on the newer side, compaired to the others, but has half-stops on both blades. Right at 3 1/2" closed.

Fondling new mail delivery; three inches of cuteness, with half stops and shrinky dink tortoise celluloid.

that is a nice one, Tongueriver, blades in very good condition, too bad the celluloid is starting to go.

Yea I agree nice looking knife but I would pop those handles off now!! I bought a used old Cattaraugus that had green celluloid handles that were gasing out and on one side half the handle was missing. I usually never have knives worked on but this little beauty was etched so I sent it to my repair guy with some old Ivory and I am waiting to get it back. I did not want to lose a great knife because of the handles. Before pics and the ivory pieces attached.

Super nice pruner, danno50. I'm starting to get into pruners here lately

Just got the etched Cattaraugus knife back, love that I was able to get it restored rather then let it just go bad!!
