Hammer Brand, one Congress, one Jack. I call the Congress pattern color, OCEAN
the Jack, I don't know what you call it.

JoeDirt, help me!
Nice snag on the congress.
They are one of the harder to find shell patterns.

Goodness Joe!! Is the Soddy in there too?
You are too kind my friend!
Thanks Dale, it is a hard pattern to find, especially in new condition.
This makes my second. The first was found in a Hammer roll of knives I got a while back.

Those are some of the best Joe.

Those are both in very fine condition FRJ!

You found some beauties there!

Hey Perry,
Is this the color you are looking for?
I think it is one of the prettiest ones I have, near mint too.
I don’t think it has been sharpened either.

The knife the EO is leaned against is a toothpick with the '36-'37 stamp (hardest snapin shell I have

)
Guess that color/pattern wrap dates way back..... what shall we call it?

Well Joe....there have been times in my life where I could have called it "self portraite", but, that aside maybe
"plowed fields" would work.

Joe Dirt wrote:Hammer Brand "slant bolsters". (4 finger/USA stamps)
These are one of the few Hammer stamped knives that had a shield.
You will find a few other patterns with a shield, but they were "mix ups", as they were built side by side in the Imperial factory!
"It's all about the colors, folks".

I think these 2 slanted bolsters, shielded knives are your 2 finest in color and style you own Joe!

I should get to handle a few when I get home in May.
I don't have a pic just now, and didn't realize it until recently, but have a Prov. Cut Co Barlow that is shell.
One of the ones coming is an Imperial.

I mentioned it in another thread.
I picked up an Imperial USA Shell Toothpick and an Imperial Ireland Shell Dog Leg Jack.
Really dig the Jack! Got it after MUCH ADO paper sliceing sharp.
Of course I still have a box at home with a couple shell knives in it....

Here's a little project Joe sent me, thank you Joe! This is a Barlow pattern that has very strong springs but the handles are shot. And at the bottom are the newer brown and green handles that will replace them. This will be a fantastic knife if I don't mess anything up.
