All About Pocket Knives

Here's a few old ones I haven't posted yet. Humanson & Beckley whittler, W. Bingham reg. jack, W.R. Case & Sons 62291/2 Tadpole,K-Bar hump-back jack(I think this pattern was the model for the Knife World Cripple Creeek jack). Slim.

Thanks Paul. Wish I could have taken some better pics. Some of the tang stamps are very faint and these pics don't do justice particularly to the Rogers bone on that Tadpole. Slim.

Thanks Joe. I'm almost inclined to have this one re-bladed with a k-nice spear point with long pull or maybe even a Wharncliffe blade with long pull and swedge. Wouldn't that be nice

It would be lovely, but...........I'd be nervous about those beautiful bone covers. You cant replace those.

Just won this Imperial 1936 - 1952 on eBay.....trying to determine if they are bone/stag handles or fake bone...

What you have there is a WW II era Army Air Corps Pilot`s knife.

The handles are genuine Rogers jigged bone

When someone mentions "working man's knives" or "utilitarian knives", I always think of the Robeson 050 pattern fat jack.

It is a huge handful of a beefy knife.

I've seen them with "BULLDOG" etched on the master and later they had a beaver etched on the master.

I've owned two or three in the past, but never one with that much original blade profile remaining.

I had my eye on one in 1989, at a knife show. The blades were full, the 'BULLDOG" etch was deep and fully ledgible and the ebony handles were in great shape. However, the blades were grey with patina. Price was $100.00. I showed it to another dealer I knew. They recommended I pass and stated another would come along in better condition for much less money. I passed on it.

..........and I'm still waiting for a better one to come, along, however, I've long since given up finding it for less than a hundred dollars.
