Snagged an OD canvas micarta Kizer Vanguard Splinter. Sucker for OD green canvas lately. Decent knives.
Yet another beautiful knife you have there Iman. I LOVE the shape of that blade! Although I don't own any at this time, I've always heard that Kizer's are excellent knives. Really nice knife bud!
Thanks Marco, heard the same so checked one out. Thanks for the compliments, it's a nice knife. Worth the $65 I paid shipped. Love the micarta.

Yep, I hear ya Dog. Those TL-29's are solid well made knives that won't cost you an arm and a leg, and they always get the job done.
I'm still trying to figure out which of my knives I"m carrying to work as I start. However, the TL-29 is definitely a front-runner for working in a garage where my responsibilities will include office work, mechanical work, and actual recovery work with the wreckers (rigging); as well as the other direction (fabrication at a metal shop). It's the multitool and one-hand opener that are giving me the most headaches. I think I've chosen the knife--a rather inexpensive Milwaukee that is assisted open, part-serrated tanto blade, and best of all, features an AXIS-style lock. Plus, if it gets broken or lost, I'm out like $25. Same with the TL-29--I have several mostly in user condition ready to be a replacement.
Another vote for TL-29's!

Got this little Old Timer while fishing in the shallow end of the bay:012.JPG010.JPG
This is the first MM stamp I've obtained. Found out Master Mechanic was a True Value Hardware Store brand made by Schrade here on the forum.

Just came in today. Will be sharpening her up and putting into the EDC rotation. Same size as a Ka-bar hunter, just a single blade.

Picked up an import 44OT at the local feed store today. I still don't understand why this store dropped Case for these imports, as Rough Ryder is cheaper and better. Originally, I was going for a 94OT, but the clerk had trouble locating the boxed example in the display, and then I remembered they had the 44OT. The only one they had was the display, and I told him I didn't need the box since it was going to be an EDC.
Basically, the 44OT Workmate is a 34OT Middleman reenvisioned as a whittling knife, with an added Wharncliffe to the main blade spring. Thus, it still only has two springs.
ISC/Schrade didn't produce the 44OT in huge numbers, and it can be an expensive pattern to acquire. This one was just over $20. I figure the best way to put a Taylor Schrade through the ringers is to buy a pattern I don't already own in a USA-made format (like the 5OT, 34OT, 33OT, 12OT, 3OT, 8OT, 96OT, and 89OT--plus several other "open-stock", lightweight, and Uncle Henry models).

Thank you for the kind words. I sharpened her up yesterday, and wouldn’t you know it, I put her to work right away and she was razor sharp! Knocked my finger and didn’t even feel it! Fortunately, I had some homemade yarrow salve and the bleeding stopped immediately, I went right back to work. BTW, it was a nice clean cut….

Gordonjohn, that old Ulster has some beautiful bone!
Thanks to Steamboat Willie I've found another deer path to follow, looking for something I don't have. He was looking for a particular knife, I had one he could use, and we made a trade, and I got my second Old Hickory pocketknife, with the OK tang stamp. It is an Ontario 614 serpentine stockman. The 1st one I got is a 611 OK, it is the same pattern as my old standby #39 Queen Folding Hunter.
The #614 OK is the same pattern as the #61 Queen. I only have one #61, kinda rough shape, made in '76 according to the stamp.
I've noticed there are not many of the OK pocketknives listed for sale. Need to do a bit more research and determine what years and length of time Queen produced these knives. The only negative is the rather drab handle material but on the other hand that makes them a bit unique.

- My Old Hickory OK #614 came with its' own little lined carrier thanks to Steamboat Willie.

- What's the saying, "brother from another mother"?

- 3 5/8' would be almost big enough for a good EDC.

- Blade etch similar to Queen knives of the past.

- Don't want to leave out the old big one.
The hunt has begun.

Congrats, good looking knife. I know it's just pics and am not the one with it in hand, but the pics you posted look like they have none of the many flaws my last Case 54 Trapper single blade wharn with OD green micarta has. I had to send it back to the factory so they could attempt to fix it. I wonder why the quality control at Case seems to be fine on their modern knives, and is taking a dive on the Traditionals, even SFO Traditionals? I can't figure it out, but that looks like it ought to look. Good score.

Go get ‘em Treefarmer! Glad you like the 614, makes me smile
Treefarmer’s half of the trade arrived in my mailbox today. A fine specimen of the Remington 9501 large stockman wearing green & yellow delrin covers. A perfect companion to my recently acquired green & yellow Remington Barlow. Love these two together. Now to take em for a test drive!

Thank you, Sir. The big one came out of an antique shop; it was hiding in a glass case full of old jewelry, you know old earrings, necklaces and such. Always pays to look close in a junk store. The best part was the lady said $15!

Wow, that's an excellent price you paid for such a nice knife in top-notch condition. I bet those antique/yard/estate/garage sales are chock full of little treasures just waiting to be discovered.

Nice! I have something similar, which I presumed was civilian due to the newer can opener. It looks identical (same bone, same jigging, same blade and tool profiles), but is marked "MADE IN USA". It is presumed to be Camillus.
It has some wobble, and the back handle is half broken off, but the bail is intact if you need one.
