By then, I should have birthday cash burning a hole in my pocket, and my plans are to sell at least $50 worth of stuff; so I should have my funds replenished enough to spend the $75 or so I plan to on the Kabar site next month. The big problem is that I also have to pay off my smartphone next month as well, and the remainder on that is about $300.

Just picked this one up on ebay.. can't wait to see how the fit and finish are...I wanted a Schatt and Morgan lockback whittler but settled for this one...

Looks great! I have long been wanting a Hawbaker Muskrat, but the prices on original Queens or Case is way up there. I know Queen made an "Improved Muskrat" similar to the Hawkbaker close to closing that was about $90 new. There's a Parker take on the Hawkbaker that is around $50 or less.

I wanted a Case Texas Lockhorn some time ago. Those things are $200 NIB. I eventually found a Moore Maker #5213UDLB double lockback for $40, that is in white bone, and I got it cheap because it was one Moore Maker had rejected due to a crack in the bone; which they patched and sold on eBay at a huge discount. It's made by Utica, and is better in that it is carbon steel. I like the fact that it is in a Moose setup, with spey instead of a second clip blade. At 3 3/4" closed, it fits my hand well too.

A few things from one eBay seller. Oddly, they were packed into two parcels.

Victorinox Dual Pro X. I've long been wanting to try this model, and it was under $20 ($18). I like a knife with separate plain and serrated blades, and the old FIreman has this, but the belt cutter cannot be opened one handed, or with gloves on. A new model of the Rescue Tool, designed for the Italian police adds a saw, and its belt cutter is intended to be opened with gloves. It is available to the public, but only because it was specially ordered by the Italian distributor--$110 plus $20 shipping. Too expensive. The Fireman has both saw and belt cutter The more common Hunter XT has a saw instead of the openers; and while I want both (and may build out a model like this), I use the screwdrivers on the openers more than the saw. The big locking cap lifter is a great pry tool.
Assorted lot for $30. I can recognize a Multitasker multitool for AR platform maintenance (broken, but it is covered under warranty--apparently, despite D2 steel, pliers breakage is a problem; and it is almost $150 new), Case Sodbuster, an Opinel (like new, looks to be about a #6), original Russell Barlow (half of mark side handle broken off), USN Utilty Knife (bone broken near bail), a Queen Peanut (broken handles, pen blade), several shell handle knives, two Bassett keychain knives, and two bone-handle Bokers; . Over time, I'm going to have the worse-off traditionals rehandled and rebuilt. Shell handles will immediately be users.

Should be here Tuesday (Monday is a postal delivery holiday).

Found a knife I have been looking for 10 years for, a rare Boker Leo-Damast V. I have the Leo III and IV, no interest in I and II. These have Markus Balbach damascus, and the relationship between Boker and Markus was ruined when Markus busted his butt to get Boker the damascus, and then they did not pay him. Markus took Boker to German court and won, Markus told me the story years ago. The Leo IV and V retailed for $2500, and were put together by custom knife maker, Patrick Teyke, a protoge of my friend, Dietmar Kressler. Should be here Monday!

I've got three packages I recently ordered that technically should've showed up today--two from eBay, one from Etsy. All are from technically local eBay sellers--one is two towns away, one is the next county away. The Etsy seller is located in Eastern Kentucky, which isn't that far away. The one from the next county over arrived directly at my local hub/post office and was delivered yesterday--did not even go through the regional facility @ Charleston. Left Oakwood, and then arrived in Bluefield. Presumably, the same truck runs that route. The one from two towns over arrived at my post office yesterday, got sent back to Charleston, where it sits today. The one from Kentucky got missent AGAIN. There is a small town outside Charleston, called Gassaway, and a lot of my packages end up there for some reason, causing a one-day delay.

One would think the zip code would clue them in. After all, that's what it's for.

I picked this J.B.F. Champlin straight razor up cheap on eBay..I couldn't resist the ebony? handles..any suggestions on how to treat the corrosion without ruining what's left of the trademark stamp or is it better left as is? thanks..

6318 in Pocket Worn Antique Jigged Bone. I don't know if it's new for the 2020 18s, I don't think so, but notice the nail nick is located further back on the clip blade, more like what's on the 47.
I do prefer it in that location. My opinion it makes for a beefier looking blade.

Looks like a type of Doctor's Knife to me.


The stag on that knife looks great! I recently had the celluloid go bad on a 1994 Buck Creek Diamondback (4 1/4" Stockman), and I got it off first thing. I'm going to have stag put on it when funds allow.

That's a single blade Doctor's knife. It's the slender profile and the flat bottom end that gives it away. Sometimes they come with a pen secondary, sometimes with a spatula secondary blade.

Very nice Tom. That style is traditionally called a Doctors Knife. It also looks like it has the flat base "Pill Buster" Bolster on the left (non-pivot) side. Congrats.

Parker named this one "Little Pill Buster" (it's etched on the blade). I picked it up years ago in Birmingham AL and probably paid waaay too much for it because I was as green as grass back then. (the blade is kinda slooow)

It's a great looking knife though!
I might have paid a bit too much also but the heck with it. It's mine now. And if you can pay too much when your green, then I can pay too much while I'm green.

I like the Parker knives I still try to pick them up when I find them in the original box. When I was a boy my neighbor sold Parker cut knives out of the boot of his Oldsmobile 88 so they remind me of my childhood. I especially like the pill busters.
