I got an Imperial fish knife in today. Though it's not perfect, it still looks pretty all right to me. I believe it still has a factory edge.

Neat find Dan and appears to be in good shape. I kept one in a tacklebox for years. They were budget knives but worked.

Received this one earlier in the week. So did my usual routine of oil soak, flush, and did have to work on the blades a bit. They do have some slight pitting, but the blades are full, no wobble and great snap. It is a Craftsman STA-SHARP three blade Cattle Knife, 3-5/8" closed and weighs 3-3/8 ounce. Has a Sabre Clip Blade, Sheep foot secondary and a large pen blade. It has jigged bone handles and large federal style shield. The "STA-SHARP" etch is still visible but "CRAFTSMAN" is not visible. The Clip Blade tang stamp has HIGHCARBON over STEEL over U.S.A. From what I have researched, The STA-SHARP etch was used until the mid 1940's. According to the catalogs, it has Nickle Silver bolsters & liners, and the center liner is gimped on the spine. The bone handles do not have any looseness or cracks but do have some pocket wear. Overall I am very pleased with it. I still need to do some sharpening. Then give it some pocket time and use it on some fruit to get the patina back.

One of these fish knives was my very first owned knife, which my Dad gave me on the way to the lake to take out the boat and go fishin'! I never did use the scaler mind you!

I love Craftsman! Holds some nostalgia for me cause half the stuff we had in the house when I was growing up in the 1950s and 1960s came from Sears - and the Craftsman name was revered! Nice knife!

Same here Tim. I've been using Craftsman tools for many years. Although I don't think I've bough any new ones in the last 20 years. Now, with some of their line being contracted over seas, it makes me reluctant to trade any in that might wear out. But I've bought tools since the 1960's, so I guess I will use some of the old Protos and SK's a little more often now.

Thank you Joe. He is a pretty hefty boy. Craftsman knives were made by several companies, I believe this one may be made by Ulster.
