Funny thing about that S&M #2156...Even though it kept whispering to me that it would be much happier in Ivoryman's collection where it would not only enjoy being in the company of other quality vintage knives, but might also actually be carried and used once in awhile--unlike in my collection where it was buried deep in the bowels of my safe and rarely ever brought out to be appreciated in the light of day--it was not included in the original trade because I stubbornly refused to listen and just didn't feel ready to part with it. But, once the trade was completed, every time I looked at/coon-fingered the Erickson I received from Ivoryman, the S&M kept screaming louder and louder that it needed to go. Finally, I accepted that it was meant to be and I had to let it go...try as I might, I could no longer resist the inevitable hand of Fate. When the knife speaks, you must listen!

Considering what I received as my end of the trade, I know I made the right decision. (And, FWIW, I still think I got the better end of the deal )
A trade like this, where both parties feel they got a good deal, is so much more fun than any sale I've ever made and also much more satisfying, IMHO.

I was hit from high altitude today!

Scott (TripleF) recently said he had another small metal machinist's ruler available. As I'd been interested in a lot.of them he offered earlier, I jumped on this one.
But when I retrieved the envelope, I knew there was more than just that lightweight ruler inside. I got bombed by a master!
We have a knife made from a knife made from a .30-06 round, a couple of paracord fobs, and a little pouch. What is inside the pouch capped off a successful bomb run:
All bombardment units could take lessons from Scott! I've said I like cigar knives and three-blade knives, and this sweet little Imperial is both. Not sure if they called it a Stockman, but it's sharp and snappy. It's getting some pocket time right now.

It's very seldom that I get caught speechless but ~Q~ managed to do just that. I was expecting a knife in the mail that I had grabbed off ebay but the $%&*@#$)+@ postal carrier ignored all the signs I have plastered around the mailbox, asking them to ring the %^#&%^ doorbell. I finally lost my patience and checked the mail to find the knife I was expecting was here AND a package from Quintus P. Gwynn. What the $%(^#? When I opened it, it was a good thing I was sitting down. I have the Series 1 but didn't know the Premier existed. WOW! What an early BD present. Thank you ~Q~. Totally unexpected. Totally undeserved but VERY much appreciated. Thank you isn't sufficient but It's going to have to do, cause I can't think of the words that would show my appreciation. She's a beauty.

Mahalo to all of you who seem to believe I am some kind of altruistic knife philanthropist. I really hate to burst your rose-tinted perception of me; however, to be perfectly honest, the two things I enjoy most about knife collecting are 1) buying new ones to add to my collection, and 2) giving knives away to fellow collectors who love and appreciate them as much as I do...in that order. The giving part is actually my secret guilty pleasure because I get such a big kick out of it...my motives are purely selfish since it's something that makes me happy.
