My awesome wife comes through for me again! She picked me up this great Case Sowbelly and these fantastic storage drawers. A local hardware store was changing out some displays and had these 4 drill dispenser boxes for $10.00 each!! She thought I could use them for my knives. Boy can I ever! I looked them up online, and they go for about $100.00 each! Fantastic Birthday presents!!

Niiiice! I'd love those drawers!

They are great MG. They are made by a company called Huot. They've been in business since 1926...

This, what I will describe as a "cute" little knife, arrived today! The only stiletto shaped knife that Rough Rider produces! In the online pictures it appears to be bigger, but in reality it's really only a finger-nail cleaning knife!
I think I found one that MIGHT be big enough to get the job done for you Marco! It’s optimized for convenient two hand carry!
(Heck no, I didn’t actually buy this, lol)

! Ha, ha, ha! That is definitely a monster Microtech Willie!

I'll bet it's fully functional too!

I once saw online a 36" CLOSED auto stiletto, and when they pushed the button the blade lazily swung open and locked up to a length of 72"!

Great for displaying, but not much else! Thanks for the chuckle buddy!

I didn’t buy that. Just a picture I found on google to tease Mark with.
GREAT!

He'll probably want two of them.

One for each hand.

Of course we're buddies Tom!

I usually post an "LOL!" after I make similar comments just in case the reader took me seriously, but this situation seemed like comical was the only way you would interpret it! I actually don't mind being teased one little bit, at least it means someone is thinking about me! LOL!

First came the intriguing box.
Sliding open the top begins to reveal the gem inside.
Dale (ORVET) has taken a mint Camillus Barlow and added Giraffe Bone covers. The knife is satisfyingly snappy, i.e. excellent walk and talk. Stong half stops. It is the varied green colors of the bone that are captivating, deep on one side light on the other. The variation is natural to the single bone that Dale used. I find the affect quite beautiful.

There's a legend around here about a farmer who lost his Timex back in the '60s putting out hay, and the next spring he found it out in the field and it was still working, even after being through a cow's digestive system.
I have a 1959 Viscount model I bought for near nothing. These were made in England and are self-wind mechanicals. Didn't seem to want to keep a wind when I got it, and was even told by my jeweler it was probably junk. I took some thin oil and the toothpick of a Swiss Army Knife, and lubed what parts I could reach without taking the watch apart any more than popping the back off with a Swiss Army model that featured a special case oepner blade in place of the pen blade. After that, it would keep a wind about 6-8 hours. Not bad for a probably worn out watch. Needs spring bars and a band (as well as the o-ring seal to help maintain water resistance) but I will be wearing it. I am sure it would work even better if it were thoroughly serviced by an expert. The jeweler my Granddad used passed away a couple years back--and he was the last guy here locally who could work on a mechanical watch. My jeweler can change bands and batteries--but anything more he sends the watches off for.
I don't know what happened to the 1970s example (if I recall, one of the first Indiglos they made) with an expanding band my Granddad wore, but I've been meaning to get it working again. My Granddad and I have both looked for it and came up empty. It lasted 30 years of regular use, which included both use underground in the coal mines, and farm work. It's the one I plan to wear regularly.
I had a modern Expedition I was not impressed with . Date window stopped working, and the crystal chipped easily. Didn't last three years. Heck, I've got the Armitron digital I had back in Boy Scouts as my EDC watch back then, and 15 years later, it still works!
It was replaced by a Bertucci A3T that I've been much more impressed by; despite costing about the same. I paid $30 for mine as it was a "refurbished used" watch they sold for a heavy discount. Best I can tell, it hadn't been used.

Here's one for you, Marco...cool shield, but the knife might be a bit on the small side for you! (At least it has a dagger-ish blade.)
We may have to start a thread dedicated specifically to "Big Knives" (if there's not one already)
https://www.ebay.com/itm/313851120019?_ ... %3A2060778
The blade shape looks strikingly similar to my Lansky1 Case/Zippo 4107 "Coffin Spike" mod (and here I was thinking I had invented that blade shape...silly me!

).

Just got a package from New York State. A buddy was shopping antique stores and came across this case full of knives. He texted me a picture and asked if anything interested me. I immediately zoomed in and said, this one most definitely, and gave him a little background on the 10th Mountain Division. He said he would check it out the next time he returned.
This past Saturday he texted, "I picked up that knife, what's your address?" I texted it back and asked what I owed him. He said, don't worry about it.
It arrived today and is in pretty pristine condition. A whopping $18!!! I had one with some scale cracks and patches that Herb fixed for me. What a find.
