I got this lot for a surprisingly low $12. What is notable is that not a one is made in China, and they're not in that bad of a condition. Everything has great snap and no wobble, and nothing bent or broken. Aside from one knife, little to moderate blade wear.
Colonial Medium Stockman in imitation stag.
However sharpened it probably used an electric sharpener and took too much metal from the blades (to the point I may have to tinker with the kicks as coping and pen blades stick up), but now I know why some guys are obsessed with thin and slicy angle grinds. This knife is WICKED SHARP!!!!! However, these aren't the most durable edges in the more pedestrian steels, so I don't use them on my own knives for the most part, and those in higher-end steels tend to hold up several months without needing a touch-up.
Broch Knachf Solingen Gentleman's Knife. Very well made. Scales show a lot of wear, but I doubt used much. I've had it in my pocket the past two days.
Schrade Walden Wharncliffe Pen--what I believe to be a 725 model in Propwood from the early 1950s. The main attraction for me.
Vernco Japan Money Clip.
I don't know exactly how old it is. Ad-Vance Magnetics is still in business, founded in 1971. I know most Vernco knives are from the '70s to '80s.

Cool pickups Cody, especially the Schrade.
Fished this marlin spike out of the bay recently. It has the very common to this knife no like tang stamp. Now to find a knot to untie.

I haven't posted in this thread for a while, but I got two recently that I thought were pretty cool:
The first was advertised as having a fox (maybe) tang stamp--turns out it's an old solid bolster Hammer Brand. No NY Knife inscription, so I presume it's an Imperial product. It's obviously been used and loved, and it took a really wicked edge when I sharpened it. Still has good snap, and I love the worn bone handles.
The second is a Remington, what appears to be a half whittler (?). When I first received it, I thought it had been modified (perhaps a broken blade removed), but if so, someone did a *really* good job on it. I'm not very knowledgeable about Remingtons, so I don't know if this is legit or not--but I sure like the looks of it! The blades have seen a fair amount of corrosion, and I can only see the logo on the secondary blade--the primary is too rough (if there ever was a logo on it).

Lots of useful little tools on these knives, super cool!

That's a regular folding tool kit, right there. Hopefully you have very big (and very sturdy) pockets if you plan to tote that bad boy!

Some of you may remember this synthetic-handled Schrade+ USA 175 that I got last June...

Nice group, particularly like the one on the right, is that smooth white bone.
I wish it were smooth white bone, but it's some kind of synthetic (plastic) material. I actually got that knife specifically to have re-handled/modified. It's a Schrade+ USA 175.
cudgee wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 1:27 am
What are you going to have it re-handled in

smooth white bone

seriously whatever it is you are going to have a damn fine Sheepsfoot knife. Some nice wood would look spectacular
Well...here it is at last...modified as planned (by muskrat man) with smooth white/natural bone and red spacer. Also had the sheepsfoot blade modded into a Wharncliffe. Now, it's exactly what I had imagined when I bought it, and exactly what I wanted.
Sorry, cudgee, I considered many different types of wood, but bone just seemed like the way to go on this one. Personally, I think it's a huge improvement over the original. Now, I think it looks kind of like a GEC Boy's Knife (same size but, of course, much, much less expensive...and it's a Wharncliffe, so even better, IMHO!

)

Recieved this single blade traditonal folder earlier this week. I'm gonna give I-Man a compliment here. When I first saw it on the bay I thought, "Man that's nice! Looks like something I-Man would carry."
Anyways, it is 3 5/8" long & Stamped only with Solingen Germany. It has a large spear blade, slightly swelled center, brown bone handles,

a Sheriff Shield (can't ever remember shield names) & a long pull. It's NOS but unfortunately it had never seen a drop of oil in it's life which I guess is why it had some light pitting down inside the long pull. Most of which I could remove with some oil, a paper towel & a tooth pic. Other than that, it's a real keeper and I have decided to make it an EDC starting today.
Thanks for looking friends!

I believe yours is referred to as a Federal Shield.
