Been wanting a Buck with oak handles and have never bought a 112 or 110 with a drop point blade. I ordered this SFO from C&C yesterday, scratches both itches and throws in 5160 blade steel too (don’t currently have a BUCK with 5160 steel). OH

i did and I’m looking. I handle my 11 old catalogs with jewelers gloves and it takes some time to flip through pages looking for that pattern. If there was a pattern # stamped on the pile side of the main blade, the mission would be simple because I built a cross reference of all pattern #’s by catalog and I could simply look it up.
My goal is to expand the cross reference to include length, covers, bolsters, etc so I can filter on those columns and reduce my catalog search time.

Ordered this one from SKBlades two days ago...supposed to be here today.

This 212 w/Burgundy handles is an SFO made by Buck for SKBlades. Can't get it anywhere else. (Not trying to hype them, just stating the facts)
Sadly, Steve, the owner of SKBlades, sent out an email indicating they may have to either close their doors or take a hiatus from selling Buck knives. Something about SK not having a "Special Programs Manager" at this time and Buck not having one, that is holding up production/orders for SK from Buck.

Don't know the whole story, but hopefully things will work out for the both of them.

I've never been a 110 fan, but that one is just plain nice.

That drop point and 5160 are just right imo.

I'd never heard of SK Blades until a friend sent me that email the other day. I saw this knife on there and thought it was right nice, and a decent price too imo. Well done.

I just fished this Imperial out of the bay.....
.
Looks like with the "USA" tang stamp, it must be about a WWII vintage.
.
.
Looks like it has bone covers.

I pitched out a lure and reeled in a sunfish....
(I didn't think it was too bad for a $20 lure)

Nice Catch Mike!
I did a little trolling myself today and caught myself a small "Oil The Joints", I-XL George Wostenholm Sheffield advertisement pen knife for €4,76 or about $5,55 shipped.

Can't wait to see how it is!

If it has a nice strong pull like the I*XL Barlow I got from Ryan.

We will see. Anyways, I'm happy with my "Catch of the Day".

Thanks for looking!

FINALLY.
Knife was supposed to be in stock in March so I ordered on Feb. 29th. And then this Coronavirus crap hit.

Been patiently waiting ever since.
Just got an email on Friday that it's now in stock and has shipped.

It's an unexpected bump in my budget but for me, well worth it.
Tracking says it's in Kansas City, MO and expected delivery is Wednesday (usually Tuesday is actual delivery

)

That's a nice looking Trapper, Jerry. Five months of waiting...you should have plenty of virtuous patience.

Two more fixed blades. I enjoy one with a carbon steel blade, and about a 4" blade for farm work. Anything smaller I prefer in a slimmer profil and with a Kydex sheath without belt loop, so that it will fit in a pocket comfortably, quite often, they are skeleton-handle knives intended for use a neck knives--just steel, no separate handle.
Morakniv Bushcraft. I like my Companion, which is stainless; but for tougher jobs, I like the thicker, 3.2mm thick blade, and the handle looks better.
Estwing 4" Bowie Knife. Mostly to go in my PPE bag for chainsaw work, which also contains an Estwing hatchet. I know we did a pass-around of a similar knife (actually, this same model), and it seems pretty decent.
Most of my friends already own an Estwing hammer. I don't. My main user is a Vaughan, my backup is a Pittsburgh from Harbor Freight, and my small hammer is a 1950s Belknap Hardware (I own it mostly due to it being a knife brand--secondly, it was my great-granddad's). I'd always heard they were the best hammers you could buy, and I 100% agree. Chose the 20 ounce due to it being a great "in-between" size for what I do.

Oh Man! Just bought another Carl Rader MOP pen knife!
Forgot that I already have 4 of them.
But as I said once before, 5 is my lucky number! LOL!

These knives are addictive.
