Some fine looking eating there Unk. You can't go wrong with porkchops l ain't never et one l didn't like, now l ain't saying you couldn't mess one up l just ain't never. I like onions anyway you fix them, my momma made that and I always like it, we make it now and then and I like maters diced up in it.
I was dragging the hose around again this morning and took a photo or three. I don't have any fine looking art to raise my veggies in, just re-purposed stuff, like ole plastic boxes that we kept pool supplies and such in when we had the bosses red neck above ground pool (thank Goodness it's gone) and a ole triple sink thing that came out of a dairy.

Love seeing things growing! Sure do miss our big gardens of a few years ago. It's still not too late to plant a patch of Zipper Cream Peas, just getting out there and doing it is the problem. Somehow we don't have the "get up and go" that was once available.
We do have some peppers and tomatoes growing in the old, raised beds. They are beginning to produce.

- Sweet banana peppers for stuffing and pickling.

- A couple of varieties of tomatoes planted.

Well, the deer and rabbits won. Ate the plants down the nubs. I guess this winter I will build a fence around it.

Dang, Unk, that's depressing. We had deer mow through our tomato plants one year, but then that Fall I think the hunters took care of them. We have been seeing a lot of deer lately, even locally.

Great pictures everyone!
Ok here is something I have never seen before.

Wondering if anyone knows what this is.
I snapped 14 pictures of it so I'll need two posts to show them all. Some are with a Case Peanut for size comparison.
First picture is of my "Garden Art".

Oak barrel planks holding 3 old roof tiels. I know that it still looks ugly because there is not enough stuff growing on it yet. It will get there some day.
Out of the mud I put onto the roof tiels there is a

mud tube. A mud tube???
Who or what makes mud tubes?

Never seen anything like it.

Looks like an earthworm, Tom. Mud in the front, poo out the back.
Awesome Hibiscus, bighomer, there's some really pretty ones around Old Town Alexandria.
Views out the back and front barn doors after raining pretty much all day yesterday. Everything is nice and green.

That one is getting a foundation repair, Tom. My dad built that in the early 80's and I helped, especially with the roofing as he didn't like heights. The barn I was standing in while taking the pictures is mostly Chestnut and well over 100 years old.

There are some giant alliums or giant onion flowers that grow behind my car port. I did some seed harvesting from them today. I had 4 dried flowers & got I'd guess maybe 250 seeds out of them. Took a few pictures, here they are.

Random outdoor pictures I took today.
The wooden sign I bought over

at least 20 years ago at a Strawbeery Festival in Florida.
Somewhere near Tampa, Florida. Maybe it was in Plant City, FL but I'm not sure.

Tom, great pictures and your memory is pretty good too! The Strawberry Festival is in Plant City which is about 25 miles east of Tampa.

That bee is really fat, loaded up with pollen. The bees are amazing creatures and your wife's sunflower is beautiful.

Didn't realize it has been raining so much, must be falling at night when I'm in bed? Enough to grow toadstools yesterday and today, the one in the third picture is about the size of a pie pan.
The Hibiscus are doing well locally too.

I wish my memory was that good Philip. That would be great!

But I used Google to find out where it might have been. I just remembered that it was somewhere near Tampa.

Could be worse too though, I got within 25 miles of the right place.

In ten years I'll be saying I got it in FL. And in 20 years it was somewhere in America.

Gives me an idea, I could write it on the back of the sign for future generations.

Thanks for the idea!
